Xbox 360

Microsoft wanted Perfect Dark Zero to remain a mystery until October 4. Well, they manage to keep it until now, but a Gamestop employee managed to film a few minutes of the game with his camera phone and put them online. Since about everyone already put them online, no reason why I shouldn't. I've put all 5 videos into one single file for your conveniance.

do fps need 60fps? i know racing games do but i'm not sure that fps need it that badly...i mean halo2 only has 30 and that looks fine to me
I'm not so sure that racing games need 60fps but obviously given a choice 60 is preferable. They certainly look better for it but it's not essential to the gameplay. Didn't do Forza and PGR2 any real harm being 30fps.

But one would expect X360 to deliver such power to gain constant 60fps, anyway PDZ is nice :)

The game looks sweet. I will definately get this. I kind of like the the physics, even though this isnt how it's gonna be. We you shoot someone they go flyin all over the place. You could have some really hilarious moments. I bet when the game comes out there will be a code to turn the physics off.

FPS and visual detail is relative, one goes up the other goes down. If devs wanted to have 60FPS they could do it easily they'd just have to tone down the detail. I for one would rather have solid 30FPS and maximum detail.

True That.
It will require more skill to master the weapons and multiplayer.
ps, looking at the images on the forum by mitteer, i noticed that when duel wielding the uzi's, there is two crosshairs. Interesting...
I see only one chrosshair. Mind Linking me to this picture?

I wouldn't worry about that, from all I've read the game will be very similar to the original. Make sure you play it on Perfect Agent though, so you get the most objectives and best AI! :)

The crosshairs might drift depending on your movement etc.

Similar to the reticule getting bigger in something like Rainbow Six

hmmm, hopefully you don't have to control 2 crosshairs, the only thing I could think of is that gun might have an auto lock-on or something like a similiar looking SMG (forget the name) had in the original game

I canøt wait to see some direct feed vids from a newer build - with AI and Physics turned on.

I am very excited by the physics in this game, it's supposed to be the next generation version of Havoc, right? Havoc Hydra or something...

I think the ragdoll looks fun.. :D A bit over the top, but otherwise fun.. =)

just noticed something on the second PDZ vid, when she zooms into the sniper on the roof look in the top left hand corner and the building dissapears and then reapears, is that just a cock-up or graphical limitation of the machine?

Do you really think that would be in a next-gen game?

I bet it won't be like that. This is an early build of the game. Don't worry about graphical cock-ups here and there. We were never meant to see these videos anyway. You can see the 'Microsoft Confidential' sign under the screen! This was taken with a camera phone.

The 360 CAN do this game, and more - remeber Halo on the Xbox, now think of Halo 2 or Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. It just doesn't compare.

Hmm.. i'm not impressed yet. I really hate how the characters float when they are shot, and glitchy ragdoll. To be fair, that may be because of limited AI and physics in this demo. I hope it doesn't make it into the final game. Also, poor character models. So so animation. Good things were the scope of view, material effects. Another potential bad thing is 30fps, but i hope not. First person shooters need 60fps for maximum playability, and it should not be excused in this next generation.
I agree with you guys (including XAleX, volucritas)

Not being pessimistic, but there's nothing new as of yet, same old thing. Graphics aren't outstanding, gameplay looks old, and I'm not dumbfonded like from something like Metal Gear Solid 4. This is my most anticipated game, and I understand that the real game will be nothing like this, so I hope, that this game will set a standard for next-generation FPS. But, I don't understand why most of you are falling to the floor seeing this. Calm down, pick yourself up, and get excited when you see the real thing, if it's worth it.

P.S. If you go hungry and starve for something like this, that's kind've pathetic. We need to wait for them to show some unique, new and cool features that no other game has. I know Rare is excellent, and I'm sure they have something up they're sleeve.

i'm over people talking about how this new generation is jus going to be the old generation graphics with better graphics.....thats what they said about the PS2 and Xbox, and to a certain extent what they say is true, the gameplay isn't totally revolutionary, but it is alot different to say n64 and that.....gameplay is an evolutionary thing, they aren't just going to come out with something totally new and amazing when just because a new console came out,
anyways there are some really good steps forwards happenening...i mean look at Gears of War.......trust me, when we get our hands on the X360 we will wonder how we ever thought the original xbox was good

by the way those pics that that guy just posted are amzing

The enviroments look great (that wall is unbelievable), but the character models are rather unimpressive. And the lack of AI and Physics takes away from the video's "wow factor".

Hopefully Microsoft will impress at X05.
