20 minutes of Oblivion

20 minutes of Oblivion

This video Oblivion has been available on the net since yesterday, but Bethesda did not want it to be to easily available since it's the E3 presentation of the game, 5 months old now. But now that IGN put it online, there is no reason why I shouldn't have it too :)

You mean the same Oblvion DVD given to in the Gamestop conference was the same one they showed during E3?

Yes, that's what Bethesda says at least.

It does, but i was glad to hear its from E3 as some of the animation is very dodgy. im simply amased at teh look and atmosphere though, damn its nice!

Yeah, the animations and frame rates were gawd aweful, but I have faith that will be sorted out, if it hasn't already.
The video did say a Christmas release, so there's still 2 months or so before going gold.

It looks really really cool, and just the kind of game I need to play.
All the games I've been playing for the past 3-5 years have been meaningless twitch FPS's, and I need a big change.
This is it!

Amazing textures and physics. This is 5 months old, so think what it will look like in november.

This is from the PC version, right? Some nice touches here and there but overall the game seems to have the same problems than Morrowind: slow frame-rate, really bad animations, a bit boring characters and clumsy combat system.

wow amazing....wats with 2k games...they are everywhere with awesome games

its funny that there are a few things that fable said they would have but ended up not having that are in oblivion...like the whole ure stats improve as u do them, and the npc's all having their own goals and other stuff which i've forgotten now
Commented on 2005-10-02 17:40:28
um ya that is funny since fables whole skill system was based arround what u do
play the game b4 u flame it

Fable was still a matter of upgrading. Sure it was a little more varied in that you got skill points in 3 different areas and 1 general one, but how you spent them determined how your player was. In Elder Scrolls, you simply do something and you get more skilled in it. Jump around a lot, and your jumping skill increases. Pick a lot of locks and your lock picking skill increases...etc....

This vid was amazing, there was some bad things like the animation but i'm pretty sure it has been fixed since this vid is a little older than E3.

the eyes of the characters look like they are all blind ?! :)

it kinda feels unnatural

but the rest is just pretty awesome :D

Pause the video at 9:51. You can see what seems to be the 360's X button by "blade shield">

yes i signed up just to tell you that there is no way its the xbox360 version. first of all, its choppy sometimes. second, like box says theres a mouse. third, bethesda said it will have menus like in morrowind which say which botton to hit to move through them, fourth, what are u smoking? the X is a design on the shield, has nothing to do with the X button. you would think since you are so observant you would recognize that a mouse is for PC only.

also, blim. MUST GET HIGHER QUALITY! thanks, at least its better than IGNs vids.

actually, you dont get better at what you do when you play fable. you collect EXP points and buy upgrades. a little different than oblivion. not a bad game, but i think we all agree oblivion will dominate all other games for a long time.

About the game

What's up?
  • alimokrane
alimokrane On a different subject all together. if only the entire world acted like this: [url] (14 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz Gears 4 is a refinement of the Gears 3 formula, which is great if you loved Gears 3. @alimokrane: I'm partial to the Embar & Overkill. (27 minutes ago)
  • alimokrane
alimokrane @Phaethon360: I agree on the enemy variety, definataly but I simply love the little tricks and bits they added here and there. Best weapon has to be the DropShot. Ball of fun! (29 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz But with regards to variety, do you mean enemy variety? Because I agree. That is spot on. Gears 3 had so many different Locust & Lambent classes which kept Horde rounds fresh, Gears 4 does not. (49 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz PhaeKO outta nowhere. Rod said he wanted to do it right before doing it different and 343 were the blueprint for this which is why a lot of the Gears community still remains intact. (52 minutes ago)
  • Phaethon360
Phaethon360 That and the variety just isn't there. So many different enemy and weapon types in Gears 2, which was the high point of the series for me. Gears 3 wasn't bad but it was on the downswing for me. (57 minutes ago)
  • Phaethon360
Phaethon360 I really dislike Gears 4. Horde 3.0 was a disappointment, and the mechanics haven't changed much since Gears 1. After playing the remake so soon it just felt like more of the same. (58 minutes ago)
