Edit: alright, i forgive you since i got great download speed. 1 meg/second. Sweet.
Edit again: Looks really nice. Rocktober will be a good gaming month what with this and Tekken 6 coming out ;)
I'll say this until I'm blue in the face, games these days become more inventive when they blend genres, Brutal Legend is a Racer, RTS, Adventure, Action, Shooter, Platformer and Story based game, did I miss anything. For this alone it's trampling in uncharted waters.
RTS? Squad commands alone don't make a game a RTS.
Shooter? I didn't see any guns so far.
Platformer? The game has no jump button.
"Story based game"? WTF?!?
To me it looks like a mediocre Hack 'n' Slay game (like Psychonauts was a mediocre platformer in its core) that shines with great design and great dialogues

Ohh and the shooting is where he lets out a streak of lighting and also he shoots bolts and there is a jump button for platforming and the story driving aspect is something that I shouldn't need to explain, it's what Tim Schafer brings to all his games, whether you see it or not, it will be there.
omniscient: Well personally i think that making 20 things and doing a so-so job is not preferable to making one or two things really good but hey, to each his own i guess. I'm not expecting Brutal Legend to shine in gameplay, but i'm expecting the game to make me laugh and that's enough to make me want to check it out :)
Not that you can compare Little Big Planet with this game, but I think I'm going to have the same problem with Brütal Legend as with LBP. The first hour it's great, after that it loses it's charm, and after 2-3 hours I was bored.
