Electronics Arts creates the surprise by releasing the first images from the Xbox 360 version of Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2. It doesn't look too bad, but I really would like to see how this will play.
Yeah, how do you control a RTS without a mouse & keyboard?? That's even a lot worse then FPS on a console.. :P
Bold move by EA.. I think the last RTs that tried it was Red Alert on the PS2 which was a total failure.. RTS games simply belong on the PC, because of the controls.. Just like FPS imho, although with FPS you can at least argue it's kindof playable with a controller, I have no idea how RTS is..
Yet another game port from EA in order to make a quick buck .. GOD! Stop it EA already. The graphics tells it all ... this is not next gen, barely current Gen.

Exactly. It doesn't take a lot of research to see right now the 360 has as much gaming power as any PC out there. With the Architecture including the shaders and such it is new tecnology. Not to mention 3 3.2 GHZ processors.

These are the FIRST images of a game and you're slamming it for graphics already. Honestly, do you judge a book by what the shop looks like from across the road ?. It's an EA game so chances are it will not push the limits of the system but blindly slamming a game from the first 2 released shots is beyond dumb.

Strategy games are never known for it's graphics, it's about umm.... THE STRATEGY involved in playing the actual game.

Yes, have no clue about RTS games and graphics.. Do you own a PC? Did you ever play any RTS game? Any recent ones like i.e. Age of Empires III on a high-end PC?
Battle for Middle Earth 2 looks very good for a RTS, and is certainly next-gen (in gameconsole terms, PC gaming has no clear generations)
