PC Xbox 360 PS3 PS2 Xbox

The following images were put up from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas, to be announced later today. The game is rumored to be under development for Xbox, PS2 and Xbox 360, and more details will probably be released tonight. Looks great except for some smaller details (as the doors), but the game will probably not be released for some time.
Update: According to a press release we just received, the game will be released on current and next gen systems, and on PC.
Update #2: Release date is Autumn 2006. More info in comments 19:36.

Ubisoft started on PC, no way they would ditch it with R6.

personally i am looking foreward to the next wolfenstien, as r6 lockdown was pants

Wow the level of detail is stunning - particularly the characters. I would love to see if the broken glass on the advertising boards is static or if you can affect it by shooting it. Also the neon lights + city look awesome.

Looks good, i just wish game companies focused away from the whole war concept and made some great FPS games..aka area51, deux ex, perfect dark .. Getting abit bored of war influenced games..especially with GRAW coming out..i don't want anything else for a long time alike it.. even if the setting and environment is different.
Second that - even if it's realistic, these guys look like geeks from an SG-1 convention! How about some characters with style instead of these overaccessorized grunts?

Rare made it clear they are doing another perfect dark so its only a matter of time.

Yeah, and I still think Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is the best looking xbox game.
Oddly GRAW and this seem to look better than the first SC:DA pics... that is the problem with a huge franchise--fiscally they need to make sure it shows up on older hardware. Cannot wait for the first SC next-gen only game.

Good time to be a Tactical FPS gamer... must be frustrating for those people who dislike those. Of course there are quite a few sci fi FPS coming too, so oh well.

im sure theres work done to the images. the anti-aliasing looks too good to be 4x and that weird grain effect makes things look cool but its doubtful theyd do that on the 360.

give it a few weeks and we'll have some real, jaggy, sharp shadowed pics.

SC:DA is being developed by different teams at Ubi...forget which one is working on 360, might be canadian but they are developing exclusively for that platform with centralised art direction.

The 360 stuff I've seen looks great and it's very early doors for that title yet, nothing like finished and it looks better in motion.

Does this game have like an over the shoulder view?? Some of the screen shots look that way.

I don't think that grain is intentional at all (that would be silly). The is something wrong with the images like they have had the colors reduced to 16bit reduced or something. I have seen much smoother, better looking images elsewhere.

So you saw SC:DA running on the 360? How does it compare to these Rainbow Six screens? Is it up to par, or does it look worse or better? =P

Not quite, I saw some captured footage of it running on a 360 (direct feed) . From what was obviously a very early version of the game it looked pretty good to me, it wouldn't be fair to compare it to the RB6 shots at all but I certainly don't see it lacking in the graphics dept.

My real point was it's not quite a port in the sense that Need for Speed or Burnout is a port. Ubisoft are very much making the 360 versions of their franchises the flagship one and focusing much of their attention there, and then doing what they can on current gen, not the other way round.

Not to say the Xbox/PS2 versions don't look good given the tech though.

Looks like GRAW (singleplayer) with a different palette of colors and sort of an upgraded engine. Some of those are OTS and some are FPV which reminds me of GRAW. They may be able to push the graphics more with R6 because they don't have to deal with the crosscom stuff.

The ubisoft team in shanghai is working on splinter cell for the 360.

Splinter cell will look compare to rainbow six and graw maybe better come its release. I just don't see ubisoft dropping the ball graphically on their biggest franchise. GRAW was developed for current gen platforms as well and look how that turned out.

Wow really looks like Ubi is already starting to utilize a lot of the Xbox 360's potential power, wich amazes me really. Really didn't expect this kind of visuals till about 1.5-2 years after the console's launch. Really makes me wonder how much they will be able to draw out of the system in 2-3 years from now... By the way i don't think you can compare this to GRAW since that game is set in normal daylight and this is set at night, wich makes for completly different lighteffects.
