Didnt famitsu gave a 9/9/9/9 to this game,....? was that 360 famitsu, or just an invention?

Below 20/40 is low. 31/40 is above average. I didn't expect this game to be considered a masterpiece though. It's just hack and slash.

I think 77% isn't that bad for this kind of game, there is no denying that this game looks nice though.

Famistu 360 would give a more accurate score i think..

By this I mean that I could swear I read posts from these same people hyping it like it was almost the second coming, or third, whatever. And NOW people DO think it's just your average (because that's an average score) "hack-n'-slash. I can't say I'm 100% sure you guys were one of the ones hyping it Optimus style, but I'm almost sure, and to me, reading your comments right now, I feel the fanboy in you!

I think thats a fair score,if you looked of what kind of game this is,it might not have a epic story,and it might be very reptive and still get 8/10.

The important thing here is "most respected video game news magazine", especially the news part. DO NOT put too much faith in Famitsu review scores, or any other japanese gaming magaine for that matter.
Still, knowing how Famitsu works, a 31/40 is disappointing.

I think you're confusing people's opinions of the review score with people's opinions of the game itself. Those are often very different.

It happens to me all the time. I see a game and I think "That looks great, but I bet it gets poor reviews," or "That looks boring as hell, but I'm sure the critics will just love it."

Personally, I was surprised by Famitsu 360's 10/9/9/9 because even though I think N3 is going to be awesome, I expected it to get more average scores from the critics as we see here.

and it is well known famitsu is very biased toward sony,and as stated on onother forum topic, that they will take cash bribes to "up the score"

I was under the impression that Famitsu is harsh. If that's the case, how is 31/40 disappointing? I don't understand what you're trying to say Blim.

I never said anything of the sort either, I have always said it would be DW with pretty graphics.

But i still think 77% for a hack and slash is good..

according to console wars, it was famistu 360 that gave it the 37/40 with a 10/9/9/9 .

dunno if that's a once a year magazine to rate the single game that comes out every quarter or if they just fill up the other mags with previews of western games ;)

i'm still excited for this game, being, i guess one of the few, who have actually played a version of it. i never really got into the dynasty warriors games though so i dunno.

if you wanna write the game off as a hack-and-slash that's fine, but you can oversimplize every game if you want, and you'd miss some damn fine games. simple play mechanics say nothing of the amount of fun a game can have. Katamari Damacy is an excellent example of this.

If you knew how Famitsu scores a game, you would realize that 31 for such a very high profile title with dozens and dozens of pages in the previous Famitsu usually means that a game is severely flawed.
The editors mostly said that the game was mostly mindless killing of more or less harmless thousands of ennemies and you really never feel that you are achieving something.
