Brothers in Arms 3 should put cod 2 to shame graphically, but lets see some gameplay. This is probably one of those games that needs to be seen in motion.

First off, it's obviously upscaled....A LOT!

The game looks incredible, except for the slightly blurry textures on your character's arm and gun plus the foliage on the tree in the background looks really bad. I'm pretty confident that they will touch those part up. At the moment, this looks absolutely incredible for a PS3 launch window game.

Edit: Did they say if it's going to be 30fps or 60fps? I doubt it would make much of a change in the gameplay of a game like this but people are always saying how 60fps makes games with good lighting look photorealistic.

The graphics blow COD2 out of the water, I have to say it. This is coming from someone who absolutely LOVES COD2.

How can you say CoD2 looks this good? It's not even close.

Just goes to show what great lighting, smart texturing and a good amount of well executed effects can do.

The game isn't very poly-intensive. I say 'smart' texturing as the textures really aren't much more detailed than most. Just look closely at the backs of the soldiers to the right, especially where their pack meets their back. Its not really an excellent texture. Just 'smart.'

The lighting is execllent though. And the slight motion blur on the far right soldier is well done.

And honestly, the overall effect is blammin' awesome!

Looks unfisnished though definately. Look at the area up top between the two buildings, past the tree.

The Gun and Hand dont bother me much, since that could be done to show motion or make them seem out of focus. But that tree does. Alot of games have those type of trees in them. But this looks F'in amzazing for a first generation PS3 title.

Hey, Hey guys. Calm down,

This game certainly looks great, but look carefully at the skin and clothes textures. They are still surpassed by Call of Duty 2.

This might change in the final version though.

It does look much better than COD2, no doubt.
But I also get the idea the previous BIA screens look significantly better.
But that could be the capturing of the moment.

I agree. I'm realy impressed with that style of motion blur. I have never seen a motion blur where it kept the edges sharp but blurred the textures. I hope we get to see it in motion at E3.

You're mistaken, perhaps on a SD version of CoD2 versus this HD screenshot but in general the quality of this shot is mediocre at best.

You need to look at some CoD2 shots to see that this above screenshot is about the same in regards to details.

THAT WAS GOOD!!! YOU HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR!!!!

I am sorry, but apart from particle effects BIA eats COD2 alive.

The lighting, quality of texturing, post processing effects (which COD2 almost completely lacks), destructible environments are all far superior in BIA3. Don't even pretend to know anything about graphics, m'kay?

Honestly, I can't believe you said that with a straight face.

COD2 cloth and skin textures = poorly implemented normal maps.

Ok, new rule: All devs making 360 games must use the Unreal 3 engine. THE END

I had to go to another website to see the image full screen if anyone is wondering.

1) I don't see any appreciable particle effects in the above screenshot at all, are we looking at the same shot?
2) again, you spout off a boatload of big buzzwords but you haven't a sniff of a clue what you're talking about.

Seriously, if you're going to talk about buzzwords at least have something to reference against. Saying "destructible environments" means nothing when that can't been seen in a movie or screenshot. Don't give me "oh you can see broken bricks in the shot, the environment must be destructible".

I swear, some people really need to open their eyes, the graphics shown in the above shot are on scale with CoD2, the previous shots for this game looked much better.

The gameplay may be better than CoD2 but you can't see that from the shot now can you.

Agreed

I would say the screenshot is 1.35 x COD2's graphics but in motion it could be 3 x COD2's graphics :)

And this screen shots certainly does not look as good as the last ones we've seen.

uh, are you guys looking at the same picture i am? this looks pretty good. wonderful lighting, but it's not that incredible. everything looks pretty good, and then you get a look at that extremely low poly hand in the foreground.
The first couple of photos released do look much, much better than this in reguards to polys and texture detail. What makes this look good is the lighting. And no, i don't think this looks any better than COD2 in any other respect other than the lighting in that particular scene.

Hopefully it's just a poorly taken screenshot.

Don't get me wrong, the shot looks fine considering the team developing it are probably more focused on gameplay rather than graphics, I really liked BiA for the PC and thought the squad mechanics were pretty good.

The only thing that bugged me was the story and the occasional enemy AI glitches that were rather frustrating.

My point was that everyone seems to be over-hyping the graphics and the above shot is not much better (if at all) than other 360 WW2 titles thus far.
