Page << 1 2 3 4 >>Weren't one of the developers talking about how they are trying to make it like a 3rd person shooter through a 1st person perspective. Meaning, more realistic animations and reactions to environment, such as, if you run into a wall you automatically put your hand up, or if one of your squadmates get shot right in front of you, you automatically put your arms up to catch him? Just a thought. Maybe that's what they were trying to show in this trailer.
This was stated in either one of the IGN or 1up interviews.
I mean look at that............ he pulls a grenade out of a dead guy's hand....
Something tells me that's not a gameplay feature.
.......puzzling.
Yes it is about time we actually feel as if we are looking through the characters eyes along with physical awareness. I also remember an interview talking about the contact with walls and other surroundings.
Yeah, I usually feel like a floating gun in most FPS'.
Good video though, If that is all real gameplay then Kudos to Gearbox.
It seems a 360 game can look the nuts with out the over use of bloom.
but nothing this gen will ever be.
Bytheway this game look too nice if is scripted or not the game look great. Looking fowar to it
Whats wrong with comparing a scripted trailer to another scripted trailer.
Whats wrong with comparing a trailer composed of gameplay footage from the game engine on real hardware produced by the game developer to a scripture trailer rendered on a renderfarm containing no gameplay and produced by an outside VFX house.
i.e. There is absolutely nothing to compare.
Its not some kind of sacred name that must not be spoken of. You are too touchy when it comes to that killzone vid.
The kilzone vid was a target of what killzone "could" play like, and IMO so is this.
Your opinion is wrong in regards to BiA though for all the reasons listed above. It is not a matter of opinion if the game is in engine demonstrating gameplay. FPS games have been using scripted sequences for years. Showing off gameplay on real hardware that happens to have a couple scripted sequences doesn't make it a CGI movie by any means.
This is not a "target" of what BiA3 will look like. This is BiA 3. Unless you can offer some evidence this this is only a sampling of what "BiA 3 could look like" I don't see how your opinion aligns with the facts.
You don't have to explain yourself to acert. If one of the admins are getting pissed off with Killzone based discussion, then let them tell you off.
I find it a tad interesting that when some solid gameplay shows up that people want to then compare it to a CGI trailer. Either they have set their expections to be at that level (and would expect consistancy in such; every game should be compared to such) or they are downplaying the footage for whatever reason. Who knows what people's motives are, I don't, but I do find it unfair to compare game footage to a CGI.
It was not too long ago that people were crying out, "I want a HUD!" This video HAS a HUD and demonstrates the classic BiA player controls/commands and is obviously using the game engine (note the low poly head of the dead troop for example) and now people want to say it is not gameplay for whatever reason.
I understand why Gearbox is considering pulling future media. You have people crucifying them on both sides. Either it is not good as some CGI or it does not look enough like "gameplay". Gearbox would be better off only doing magazine exclusives for hype at this point if this is the type of unsubstantiate attacks they will receive.
I want a FPS that when you see down to the floor you could see your feets.. All the FPS when you see to the flor you only see the flor and WTH are your feets are you a flying camera with a gun.. I have always tell myself when somebody is going to make a fps that you could see your feet when you look down..
