:p
I spy with my new eye.....................another PC port
:p
cough...battlefield mc....cough cough :(
On the PC it was a wierd mish mash of ideas. The horror didn't blend well with the combat, didn't blend well with the level design, didn't blend well with the story. The combat and AI were really impressive, but poor level design turned most firefights into stop, get cover, pop out in slo mo, take cover, wait for slo mo to regen, repeat. The combat was never connected to the horror, so while things could be "Creepy" you never felt an impending sense of danger about anything around you, until you heard enemy communication, at which point the scary stuff stopped. Level design was an endless series of Non descript office corridors, sewer levels, and urban decay. Meh.
Its rare to find a game that has everything thats why I just look for the positives and enjoy it for what it does right. In this game its the combat I could care less about level design you can put me in a square arena like in UT and I'll have fun with the combat in this game. I thought the multiplayer levels were designed pretty well though.
Im stoked, and i've never played FEAR once.. i just believe the hype :)
I'm gald they are bringing this game to consoles. Some peoples PCs just can't handle this graphics, physics and particle effects.
Edit: Oh and Vicarious Visions did the Doom 3 port for Xbox. The developers of handheld JSR and Tony Hawk titles. Brill people.
Graphics are good, physics are pretty good. The bullet time is awesome, easily the best feature, and its not a cheap rip off of the matrix or anything like that.
Even if its a PC port, you should be proud to see this title on the 360. There are no video cards out that can max this game out graphically, and maintain a decent frame rate. Also details such as Anti-Aliasing and Soft shadows will be able to be turned on simultaneously, whereas in the PC version you couldnt, no matter what kind of computer you have. Honestly though, if this were going to be a straight port to the 360, then i think it would have been out sooner. Im thinking they might bring new graphical features onto the 360 version, along with maybe new multiplayer levels and things of that sort.
I played FEAR on PC with 10-20FPS in 1027x768 :D
And to make Manager happy, I guess I'll post this in the other thread instead.
I really hope Monolith takes the time to actually optimize their engine so this doesnt turn out Quake4 (as in thrown together in a week by a 3rd party slave).
Or is this confirmed by another source?
i beat this game on PC its really good. But why cant they let the 360 version have soft shadows enabled??? On PC I could enable the soft shadow option and it ran fairly alright, but my computer is a pile of shit compared to the 360.

How can you tell from the image?
