Xbox 360

Capcom did not release any 720p versions of the Dead Rising and Lost Planet trailers on the internet, so I just captured the versions available on the Marketplace by myself. Enjoy these two trailers in a version showing more precisely the graphical qualities of both these titles.

LOL, Blim you just showed the reason why Hollywood requires HDMI or DVI-HDCP with HDDVD and Blu-ray playback (even with 720p DVD upconversion).

Hmmm no. I can take my progressive DVD and upconvert it myself on my PC with any video application. That ban on upconversion makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah, I know, but all the upconverter DVD player I've seen requires HDMI. Even the 360 is not allow to have 720p upconversion on DVD, which I suspect the reason being that it uses YPbPr/VGA and not DVI or HDMI.

Yup, and it makes no sense. At least my Samsung DVD player can upconvert to 720p by just typing a small key sequence :)

DVDs cant be played on 720p in your high def TV by your 360 because of a stupid regulation.

Yeap, it's also partly MS fault for not taking the step to include HDMI or DVI-HDCP. Simply because any device with HDMI or DVI-HDCP requires a royalty fee of $15,000 annually and $0.02 per unit sold to a "committee." I don't think MS wants to add anymore cost to the 360 so they left it out and figure VGA and component output is sufficient for 720p/1080i resolution. Also, most HDTV set before 2005 are not compliant with HDMI regulations, so any early HDTV adopter wanting HDDVD or Bluray is out of luck.

WOW, Blim Blim is going HD crazy. I just hope if a new video comes out, you display a 720p version and a lower quality version.

Makes absolute sense. Why buy HD DVD/BR if you can get DVDs to be a "rough" HD look.

Unlike VHS, which had a TON of downsides to DVD, the new media has 1 major advantage: RESOLUTION. And one huge draw back--draconian DMR.

Maybe, but no DRM as far as I know. Pictures and sound files come off no problem, you can even grab all your PGR3 photo mode snaps for use on your PC!
