Page 1 2 >>yay ... that makes what, 95% of the games on the 360 FPS?
I've dreamt of the day I can kill children while wearing a deep-sea submersive suit.

cod2, pdz, quake, graw, bf:mc, condemned (sorta) = 360 fps'
then you have madden, fifa x2, nba 2k6, nba live, college hoops, mlb 2k6, tiger woods, full auto, burnout revenge, gun, king kong, tony hawks, rumble roses, amped, kameo, outift, pgr3, tomb raider, top spin 2, oblivion, blazing angels, fight night r3, doa4, ridge racer 6, n4s mw, nhl 2k6
yeh 95% are first person shooters
What he meant was obviously that a dizzying amount of games on the 360 are played from the first person perspective, and he's right! And it is sort of depressing, too!
That said, Bioshock, like noted, is one of the more interesting and unique entries in the genre. I'm a big fan of the System Shock games myself, both from a philosophical standpoint aswell as for their gameplay and horror elements.
I love FPS and I am glad more genres are branching of into a FPS style of play.
Platformers are dead too me now.

Bioshock is as much a FPS as System Shock is.
What's wrong with FPS ?
I've dreamt of the day I can kill children while wearing a deep-sea submersive suit.
The screenshots are very jaggy, but I've seen 15mn of gameplay running on X360, and I can assure you the game is visually gorgeous, on the very top of what we've seen so far.
Possible Devil May Cry 360 Debut
Edit: infact when it was first announced at being developed it was in ps3 and 360 sections on all sites. Then the ps3 version disapeared and Ive only ever seen 360 shots since.
Wall hug is one of the greatest and most influental additions to action games ever, and now we basically take it for granted. It's an aweome addition that I think we all agree to liking, and it's possible thanks to a third person viewpoint.
Discussing the merits of FPS vs TPS is of course rather pointless since we all have different opinions on what's best, but I think we can agree that it's better to strike a good balance between the two than to have every action game become an FPS.
The trend is turning though. Army of Two, Gears of War, GRAW, Mercenaries 2, these are all embracing the third person perspective to offer more varied styles of play and different maneuvers. I think the future's bright, regardless of which type of game you root for. It's just that right now, one camp is severely over-represented on the platform.
