Japan Expo: Gameplay of Dead Rising

Japan Expo: Gameplay of Dead Rising

After yesterday's cinematics, Dead Rising shines again with a five minutes long video of gameplay. You'll find laser sabers, fugly clothes, a water pistol, a skateboard ride, a CD throwing contest, a huge teddy bear and some shotgun goodness. As a bonus, there is also a second video, far shorter than the first one, which should confirm that you definitely don't want to mess with a man in possession of a large gardener scissor pair.

Nice, i'm really loving all the footage of Dead Rising. The game looks real promising. The only thing im worried about is how long it takes to beat the game. Though I know you have to play the game more then once to go to some locked areas.

I hope this game will turn out to be region free, because August 8th is the American release.. and we have to wait til September in Europe.

I heard that it take 72 hours before the plane comes to save you right. Well is it 72 real time hours or 72 game hours.( like Oblivion time)

If its real time hours the game is longer than most RPG's

So basically the game can be "finished" in one sitting? Not that I can imagine anyone never playing it again afterwards, if there's that much to do in/around the mall I'd want to play through multiple times... I just wonder why they make it so short.

It can't be "finished" in one play through though, missions overlap in regards to start times and ends so if you take a certain mission you may miss out on another one (or more)

Wasn't it only 3 hours if you stand around doing nothing? As I understood it, the time was variable, so doing missions and stuff actually increases the potential play time.

  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (2 minutes ago)
