I just can't get excited about this game without the COD2 team behind it. Just another cash-in-on-the-previous-game's-success-as-fast-as-possible sequel. *yawn*

Too bad 360 version doesn't look any better.
I think the PS3 version looks a bit cleaner.

Yep thats AA for you. Everyone says about "Jaggies" and its usually responded to by it will have AA by the time the game is completed, every game i bought in which people said that they still had no AA on and looked nasty.

But oh well, im disapointed because COD was one of my fav games, and itseems they are taking the real EA approach to it now.

PS just to say the maps look really crap aswell the restriction and realism looks dire.

heh. All those people who insisted that the e3 06 trailer was real-time should be really disappointed. Even tho it was so damn obvious it was pre-rendered, now you get to see the comparison between the real gfx and the CGI that COD games love to use. Screw this game. Im going with Brothers In Arms 3.

All the people that were dising this game are some of the most retarded people. I guess they dont understand that the GAME is still in development.
Well if they are far enough along in development to begin tailoring the game for each specific platform (as these screens indicate), then most of the development is done.

I'm gonna pass on this one for the fact that Infinity Ward is not working on it. Waiting for Infinity Ward's modern era Call of Duty anyway, getting bored of WWII games.

I will definately buy this if it has more then 10 hrs of single player

Absolutly true, you can only renenact WW2 so many times before it gets boring, WW2 games went out with the first COD.

I think the next Wolfenstein will have something to say about that.

360 version has better AA, and looks sharper in the texture department, and it even has shadows unlike the PS3 version. 360 version looks better, slightly, but they both look identical. Many multiplatform developers have said the graphics will look equal between both consoles.

Don't know what people are moaning about, what did you expect a completely new engine? The game is already due for the end of this year.
thats what they need to do. instead of making 3 cod's a year they could add somthing different, atleast change somthing (besides the name). they should take more time on each game and maybe they could make a good one, one that isnt exactly the same as the last one they made, and the other 500

I wish treyarch did a next-gen version of Die by the Sword. That had the MOST next gen control for your sword (like virtual reality) using your mouse.. would work great for two thumbsticks and the Wii controller.

Meh for 1997 CoD games already. Quake3 engine FTW... wtf!

edit: gotta love you guys arguing over screenshots taken from the same game and same engine.. where the dev "ingeniously" has enabled AA on the hardware that is not equipped for "free-AA" in any shape or form. Wow.. these guys are effin morons for trying to kiss up to the PS3 crowd while YET AGAIN forgetting about the whole EDRAM thing.

Just imagine the outcry if the shots were LIKE THEY SHOULD BE, where the PS3 lacks AA and the 360 has free-aa blaring in all its glory. But oh no, that could never happen!

I'm enjoying the argument, I wish they would give us even more to argue over.
Finally a graphics comparison on the same freaking game.

And I seriously doubt there is a lead SKU because the hardware is so different, it must be two teams tacking the same art assets and game mechanics to create the best COD3 possible in thier timeframe.

So...
we have 3 PS3 pictures, one with no AA, one with moderate to bad AA, and one with considerble AA.

Then we have 4 360 pictures, 3 with no AA, and one with considerable AA..

Whats going on here?

Since when has COD2 looked bad? I thought aside from Kameo it was the nicest looking launch title that came out??

Hold on a second. Whats AA? And why are so many people complaining about the graphics looking just like COD2. It shouldn't matter as long as the gameplay is great. And after seeing those videos, COD3 seems more realistic than COD2. Especially in the close quarters video.

What's up?
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer oh yea that, Dragon Age was preloading at the time (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (7 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (7 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (8 Hours ago)
