Page 1 2 >>Graphics may be very simplistic, but at least there is an art direction, and the game itself sounds quite interesting. I'd probably pick it up if it sold as a budget title.
Be realistic people.
It usually takes a year before the price drops of game ( if they do ). it depends on how wel it sells.
Its also proof positive (along with Senko no Ronde) that Microsoft aren't going to shut out smaller developers, something which Nintendo were, in some ways, accusing Microsoft and Sony of doing as they increased the level of power in their machines. Its like saying "yeah there's a lot of power, but you don't have to use it if the idea is there".
Masaki Hirooka : PSO ep3(GC) The Key of Avalon(AC) Espgaluda (AC PS2) etc
Toshinari Tanaka : Illustrations in various "Megamitensei" card games.
Kairough Ketu : OmiyaSoft employee, He is Ex-Programmer, Now main BG/Character designer of all culdcept series. ASSAULT SUITS VALKEN(SNES) Gunhazzard(SNES) etc
Atsuko Nisida : Monster design in various Pokemon games, some works in Grandia2 etc
Munetaka Ikeda : Illustrator, PSO ep3(GC) and some box art in Konami US title.
Yuri Hanayama : Pro-illustrator, I coudn't find her "Game" works.
Why does everyone assume that lesser Japanese games will sell for a budget price.
Be realistic people.
Typically no one wants to buy a game at full price if it appears to have lower production values. It's not that its any "lesser" of a game, but this is the type of game that smaller developers (not just Japanese), can and are currently making on last generation consoles (i.e. PS2). Being on the 360 just has the added bonus of higher resolutions and full screen anti aliasing. If I was loaded with cash sure, I'd pick this up nomatter what cost, what the heck. But for now I'd feel a bit more comforted if I felt my money I spend is justified. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite liking the idea of this game, and hope omiya soft the best of success with it, but don't try and tell me that this game is next-gen. Now that would be more realistic.
As you are aware Omiya soft is a small developer and doesn't have the money to throw into making games unlike some bigger developers, but this shouldn't efect the price.
Thats like saying a movie with lesser production values should be cheaper than say Lord of the Rings when it comes to DVD.
I have said it before its not about the graphics it's about the gameplay, if you don't want to buy a game because it doesn't have the visuals you want then you will probably miss out on a lot of good games this generation.
Do you buy a movie based on its special effects ot its story?
I will agree though, that supporting smaller developers IS important, just as it is for budding directors, or lesser known musicians (say no to mp3s kids!) - but none of those can expect to become as rich as the giants in the industry over night.
Art is great indeed.. I am really glad to see the xbox360 getting kick ___ games this time around..

I also think that the term 'Next Gen' is being over used by people that critise a game/system.
The art is indeed very good, I think the graphics are not to bad either, the story is more important with RPG's.
It usually takes a year before the price drops of game ( if they do ). it depends on how wel it sells.
This is not an RPG nor will it be story based. The Culdcept series is more of a strategy/board game style. Its very much gameplay based not story driven. Think Magic the Gathering mixed with Monopoly and youre pretty close.
