Page 1 2 >>hey, i never played the last game (AW) so i dont know how this compares. is this better graphically? it looks pretty good but not mindblowing
I love the slowmotion parts, how the background get's blurred a bit, it looks amazing...
animations are a bit average without the slow motion, but im amazed how it looks so far!
I just hope for the lack of anything like bam margera, or anything gimmicky like that, and they need to take it back to the first two games without all that stuff... i think they are spot on so far, looks about skating, and skating only...
Sorry to see I'm the only one thinking that the anims look like pure shit.
What the hell does that have to do with skateboarding? Not a damn thing.
And I agree with rupbert. The 10 second clip we saw of this game a while back looks a lot better than this trailer. This looks like nothing more than a higher resolution Xbox1 game. It even has a worse framerate than Wasteland.
Not to mention the Tony Hawk series has been so dumbed down now that it's so easy to pull of ridiculously long tricks giving you serious points.
Hmm, it seemed to me that in all of the tricks, the skaters feet never actually connected with the board.
Btw, I have never seen a black guy skateboarding before 0.o
The graphics do seem improved from AW, but does it really look all that good? If we take animations into graphics (which I think they are part of), I think this looks pretty bad. There are times when the guy is just floating in the air without a single movement, he's frozen in the air while the skateboard does all this moves and he just waits for it, frozen.
And the tricks seem to be as unrealistic as ALL Tony Hawk games were. For whoever said nothing will catch up with Tony Hawk 2, I really don't see the difference between that and this, if anything, this will be better.
And then the framerate, throughout the video it was low, really low.
When are we going to see a skateboarding game that actually tries to use physics appropriately. WHere balance actually matters because the board isn't attached to the players feet by invisible strings.
Tony Hawk: American Wasteland is probably my most hated game for the 360. The game is boring, uninspired, offers nothing in terms of next gen gameplay and cashed in on the franchise fans.
It looks like project 8 follows the same story, moon gravity, invisible strings, unbelievable animation.
This game is definately a pass now, call me when someone actually starts to innovate in this genre.
I say bullshit.
This is what the Xbox version should have looked like 2 years ago, except with better animation.
They really need to give this IP to a new team, one who actually gives a shit about this franchise and wants to improve upon it not just feed off the name.
There's quite a few black skaters. Kareem Campbell, Stevie Williams, Harold Hunter who skated for Zoo York, I know alot of Chicago skatevideos with many black skaters, there's even this new rapper Lupe Fiasco who has a new video "Kick Push" that's all about skating...even I'M a black skater!
They're definitely out there, and it seems to be increasing.
