I guess we can now officially say that July is not a completely dead month for gaming news, and I'm sure you are as happy about this as I am. This time we get a brand new video of Tony Hawk's Project 8, and it looks like it's more or less completely ingame. I'm not as convinced with the animations as I was with the E3 trailer, but this is still a giant leap comparable to that horrible America Most Wanted game on 360.

Kareem Campbell, Stevie Williams, Harold Hunter who skated for Zoo York, I know alot of Chicago skatevideos with many black skaters, there's even this new rapper Lupe Fiasco who has a new video "Kick Push" that's all about skating...even I'M a black skater!
They're definitely out there, and it seems to be increasing.

Commented on 2006-07-22 23:20:56How about adding a physics engine for instance, inertia, torque, mass, blended animations. Some racing games are starting to approach a level of realism that is even remotely respectable (forza, gtr, rbr), but this game could run on the PSX absolutely fine (I mean the core game, remove the graphics). Last-last-gen is not next-gen, not even with sugar on top.
Codemasters and Neversoft must have the same brains in their management. Recycle, recreate, rinse, repeat.

Commented on 2006-07-23 07:56:35Perhaps if they took the time just sit down, make a "fresh" game, and then release it, it would be ok. But nobody needs a new Tony Hawk game every year.
Commented on 2006-07-23 09:03:12It doesn't look terrible, it just doesn't seem like the "reinvention" that they claimed.
Commented on 2006-07-23 10:51:52 In reply to tjsunnydaythat said, this video was terrible. shoddy framerate, terrible transition animations (no ollie or impact animations) and the texture work looked blurry.
they had people pumped with the e3 vid, and releasing a video like this could detract from the hype.

Commented on 2006-07-23 17:25:03Project 8 appears to be yet another sellout and milking of the fans of the genre by putting on a new gloss of paint and calling it a new game. That isn't good enough any more. The consoles now have so much horsepower and these guys aren't even TRYING to use it because they know they can just make sales by putting the TH name on the box.
I won't be touching Project 8 with a 10 foot pole. The series needs to be redesigned.
