You may have read about it in some magazine, but Eidos today officially announced Kane & Lynch: Dead Men for Xbox 360 and PC. IO Interactive, the Hitman series developers, are doing the game and will be finished with it next year. See the first images inside.


Eidos themselves writes: Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a dark and gritty tale of two men bound by circumstance as they wait on death row for their final sentence. One is a flawed mercenary, the other a medicated psychopath. The two are forced to embark on a violent and chaotic journey, hating each other every step of the way.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is a story-driven, fully co-operative third-person action shooter title, with intuitive crew mechanics, heavily populated destructible real-world scenarios, a volatile partnership and brutal attitude.

Wowzers! IO came out with one of the most next gen games ever (the original hitman - pioneering in ragdolls etc) but went stale since (repeating themselves). They really need to do something great for next-gen and next-gen alone.

And if we want to be nitpicky... why are the 2 guys on the floor are their hands still propped upward like manequines? (second picture) doesn't dead = limp anymore?
another bit of nit pickin:

the muzzle flash of the gun on the first picture is below the barrel it's supposed to be coming from :)

The guy with the grey suit in the second picture looks a lot like Vincent in the movie Collateral :)

Incidentally there is a level where he goes visit a club full of partying people he can blend into. I'm thinking it's not a coincidence.
