Acony Games, a german independant game studio is preparing a tactical FPS powered by Unreal Engine 3!
Their lovely baby is named Parabellum, and is about a counter terrorist style gaming.
"Parabellum draws the player into a likely scenario of nuclear terror in New York City. An extremist group known as “Black November” is holding the entire city hostage by threatening to detonate a thermonuclear bomb. Their condition is the withdrawal of all United States military forces from the middle east. If this condition will not be fulfilled within 10 days, Black November will detonate the 20 Megaton nuclear warhead. According to intelligence information, the bomb could be hidden almost anywhere in NYC."
The good news is that they promised the biggest multiplayer Environment ever created: The whole city!
The game is scheduled for PC, Xbox360 and PS3 on the second half of 2007.

Maybe one of these strikes a chord with you.

Commented on 2006-08-17 00:59:38I also hope they port every PC game because I bought the 360. for the soul purpose of playing PC games at high graphical quality without the expense of upgrading every 4 months.

Commented on 2006-08-17 06:12:03Well, I like the idea, I can't wait for more info to see if they can pull it off and if it will be a good game.
Commented on 2006-08-18 00:45:56Pcs are the ones with a huge amount of FPS....i mean, it's why the keyboard and mouse combination works so perfectly.
I hope microsoft doesn't just flood the xbox360 with FPS..i already have 4 FPS out of my 8 games.. Come on microsoft..how about a platformer? like jak & daxter?
Bet FPS fans are loving all these fps games though.

Commented on 2006-08-20 22:01:04 In reply to cchanceYes there should be more original games out their... but the fact is besides for nintendo... companys seem to be too afraid to try anything ... new...
I'd love to see a Sims for the 360 ... but apparently thats too much to ask for from EA... so far the only really offshoot game is Viva Pinata which is kinda kiddy but i might actually get it just so me and my girlfriend have something to f*ck around with together... and i blame EA and the other studios not microsoft because i really sincerly DOUBT microsoft is sitting their chanting "WE WANT FPS'S"
So basically, yea, it's their fault.
Since Microsoft if so adamant about not supporting kb+M controls for the X360--I'd much rather see FAR FEWER of these games. They don't want people to think that the xbox is a PC--so let's release pretty much the same software but gimp the controls! Seriously--the lineup is screaming for diversity and you really can't blame people for getting tired of the same old shit..actually--it's a good thing--too many people being content with this sort of nonsense just makes the whole situation that much worse.
I'm sure if you give it time though, it will get better..I'm a little dissapointed in a way though--the original Xbox had a more satisfying initial lineup to me--Sega was there with lots of niche support which I really loved--and all we've seen from them thus far is a couple of published titles and no originals..sad.
