The Darkness: 5 more

The Darkness: 5 more

Starbreeze releases five more screens of their next FPS, and to tell the least, it still rocks.
Look at the second picture, as you can see the edges are redrawn only on parts of the screen that are too dark, this could be a great improvement over the excellent Riddick because we shouldn't be dazzled by the lights when the night-vision is on, but we need some official info to settle this up.

Uh oh, from pic 4, it looks like this is another game that the Germans won't be allowed to have!

This game looks very good.

MaxHartkopf : doesn't matter if these are ps3 or 360 shots, since both machines have roughly the same capabilitys graphically

this is looking promising, the certification board aren't gonna like it if you can shove guns in peoples mouths to blow their brains out tho :P

Graphically no, but as for all-around power yes.
And only if they take advantage of that extra power with extra developement (ie making the game from the gorund up for the PS3........You are not going to see that in Multi-platform games.

Hmmm, Starbreeze has stated on multiple occasions that the 360 has a Better GPU. They have also stated the 360 version will have higher res textures because of it's larger amount of memory. The PS3 will feature uncompressed videos that play on the TVs in the game world

I'm sure this game will be nothing short of next gen gameplay. Whenever I think about the Chronicles of Riddick game, I realize the game was ahead of its time the more I see later titles in a similar genre. I don't know if the Riddick game was a fps or third person adventure. I can't really describe it as either, because the game was so interactive. It had multiple engines. Most of the time Riddick was in first person and then there were times you could control Riddick in third person for the situations. You could even have a street fight in first person.

yes riddick was way ahead of its time. this is very true.

i agree that yeah, this time around, multiplatform games will cater to M$ instead of sony. we win. but yeah i dont think the 360 can do warhawk tho. i mean it just looks so good and smooth. something tells me that if it was on 360 it would have pop-in and no v synch with mad tearing or something (like 99% of 360 games).

Seen the dragon level in Kameo?

Object instancing seems to be handled pretty well in the 360, which means it can probably do WarHawk like a breeze.

  • Doom_Bringer

  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (5 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (6 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (6 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (6 Hours ago)
