Electronic Arts announced today the development of a new episode of the famous Battlefield series, called Battlefield: Bad Company. As always developed by DiCE using an in-house engine, this Battlefield should be much more story driven, with much more emphasis on the characters. First screen inside!
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

Commented on 2006-08-21 20:25:38 In reply to cchanceIt's very possibly ingame but no way to tell for sure. Just remember, it's amazing what good shaders can do :)
I think it's going to be a very long time before we see a REAL DX10 game built from it's very foundation utilizing Direct 3D 10 elements. I mean despite all of the excitement about Crysis, it's still basically DX9 making use of miminal DX10 elements.
Developers are SUPER SLOW when it comes to adapting new development tools. It might surprise you to know that there are only about 10 games that have ever been developed using Shader Model 3.0. I have no idea when developers would start using Shader Model 4.0 which is arriving with Direct 3D 10 by way of Vista/DX10.
I wouldn't hold my breath to see too many DX10 based titles anytime soon. It could take more than year before developers get around to it. I don't want to say that developers are lazy, but they usually don't start rushing in to use something they haven't aquired a certain level of comfort with.

Commented on 2006-08-21 21:02:12Please stop comparing a game with 2 characters in a small square ring with games that are in large arenas with physics, destructible enviroments, multiple characters on screen, etc. Theres a reason why DOA was the best looking Xbox game.
==
And stop comparing a game released shortly after 360 was launched with a game going to be released a year or two after, cookie, see GOW, Mass Effect and Unreal tournament 2007 for more information.
It appears you have a very low faith in what Next-Generation means.
==
They're renders- not CG, not "in game". Sorry- please don't confuse the issue, I'm not a flamer of anything- but these are renders. Period.
==
Why ofcourse they are, FNR3, GOW and Mass Effect are all built on a pre-rendered engine too lol (=
