So? Doom was here first. does that mean no-one else should make a first person shooter? No. Developers can do what they want (mostly).

Jees, you sound like you want to stifle new IPs with what you are saying. Since 'max payne was there first' only Max payne games should have a style like this? i think not.

It's not like that. But that's the reason I think it's boring. Max Payne did it once, it was cool (partly because I also really liked the story etc), but for me, once is enough. This game looks like Max Payne without the cool Max Payne, without the nice story, without the nice "weird parts" but with more action elements... for me, that just won't do it
