Super Robot Wars XO first Famitsu scans

Super Robot Wars XO first Famitsu scans

This week's Famitsu featured first look at the Xbox360s Super Robot Wars game, which is basically upgraded version of already released Gamecube's SRW game with additional online fighting. This SRPG franchise is quite popular in Japan due to vast number of characters and mechas from various (old) anime shows involved in the game, but it's hardly known in the west. Super Robot Wars XO will be released this November in Japan.

It looks very entertaining but atm I'm very much addicted to super shiny and polished graphics ^^.

More fuel for the foreign fire I guess...i am hoping Microsoft has some big guns for this TGS...it is the most important show for them to blow everyone out of the water with huge announcements...if they hope to win the hearts and minds of the Japanese market...

Were getting a lot of SRPG if we compare the 360's one with the Xbox 1's (I think that they were like two SRPG on Xbox 1) :) . Anyway, Im always happy when new Rpg are announced.

What is an SRPG? Also who is pulbishing, and developing this game?

SRPG = Strategic Role-Playing Game.
Also, the game is published by Namco/Bandai and developed by Banpresto.

Well, it's a GameCube game with a few bonus (I heard).

Looks cool! The Super Robot series is a big hit in Japan. While the XBOX 360 installed base is rather small there, I'm sure this will be quite a treat for Japanese XBOX 360 owners.

Those SD robots are pretty cute too! There are TONS of robot anime in Japan and this game is the dream of every robot otaku! Graphics has never been the strong suit of this game franchise rather its the idea that all these classical robot anime characters are coming together.

Yup, This is a lazy port of "crappy flopped" GC version with some extra thingies and live MP support. So this is pretty ignore-able for die hard SRW fans who cares story.
The game is already flopped badly even before its first scoop.

btw, 3D SRW=Junk. it’s a common sense among SRW fans, they always prefer 2D SRW.

Well, it got a 32/40 in Famitsu Weekly and a 30/40 in Famitsu Cube & Advance. It doesn't seem to be a bad game.

No, I think you are being a graphics whore. Graphics don't just become terrible because new technology comes along. A good looking game is a good looking game, no matter how old it is.
