Page << 1 2 3if what you say is true, then i stand corrected. i find it hard to believe however. the fact remains, most 360 games struggle to reach 30 frames a second and ususally without v sync to top it off. its a sad fact, but a fact nonetheless. perhaps the ps3 does suck (hardware-wise. we already know it sucks for many other reasons).
i did notice the 15 minute HD MGS4 trailer had some slowdown, but it was very rare and it sure as hell looked awesome. but then again its all scripted...
But it is really needed in games.
i agree that there are framerate problems with some games, and i really do get very annoyed by the lack of v-sync. i believe these problems are not with the hardware though, they are with the devs not utilizing the cpu cores effectively, or taking advantage of unified shaders. they also have to get their code down perfectly, much more strictly than last generation or pc games. they are too lazy to spend enough time on it, or they are pressured to get the product out more quickly. with time, i think these problems will disappear. i'm sure there will be problems with PS3 games in the beginning as well since there are so many cores and threads to work with. i'm willing to be patient to see what next year and the year after brings.
Adding a 30fps limit to cut back on the tearing is bullshit. I would much rather see the game running at 60fps with tearing on the screen, than look like a clean movie when it runs at 30.
Its ashame 'Gaycube' will be soon getting 'possibly' one of the greatest games so far (and certainly of any plattform this year).. Zelda: Twilight Princess is gona make alot of these wanna be 'next generation' games seem very poor indeed.
'Game Cube'..
get it right..
