TGS06: Culdcept Saga images

Namco released these images of Culdcept Saga, finally showing some 720p godness of this interesting game (that should be on the TGS floor).

I really like the looks of this game. Is it on the TGS floor? I would really love some footage of this game in action.

Seems to have potential.
But that text... Is this game made for blind people?

With all that crap goin around for Dead Rising's hard-to-read text... I won't complain about the text in this one.

About the screens, game looks kinda nice. I'm liking a lot the character designs. But I can't really figure out what's the gameplay like, since I never played the first Culdcept on PS2... seems like some strategy-board game of sorts...

The best way to describe the game is like how Tycho of Penny Arcade once described it: It is a mix between Monopoly and Magic:The Gathering. There is a big board and each player has a preconstructed deck that you can edit between matches. You start your turn and draw a card. Then you can play spells from your hand. You roll an 8-sided die and move your character that many spaces. Whatever space you land on, you can play a creature on. If there is an opponent's creature there, when you try to play yours, your creatures do battle using their stats, and either you lose and don't get to place or you win and their creature is knocked out and you place yours. There is also a kind of "money" that you have to pay if you land on an occupied space and choose not to fight or lose your fight. And players can pay to make their spaces worth a lot more. You're trying to be the first to get to the "money" goal on the map and win. That's Culdcept.

As for this game, I'm greatly looking forward to it because I loved the first Culdcept. I just hope they add some things to make it a true sequel, and I don't see any new aspects as of yet (except for the obviously better graphics)

Yes, Culdecept was on the TGS floor. It looks pretty nice actually, however dont expect much over a typical PS2 to X360 port. Its just shinier and thats about it. I hope they are able to get some footage as well, since the game wasnt exactly set in a standout area. Id love to see it again. (Also, even if its not a port, it looks like one)

I *love* the fact the text is large. We have to do a ton of reading and I'm not blind now, but I don't want to go blind for a videogame either. As it is I need to go up to the TV to determine a '0' vs '8' for chromehounds at times, I wont buy dead rising, there are similiar issues on some other titles, and I didnt go next gen to need magnifying glasses if I couldn't get an overly huge and/or HDTV right from the get-go.

I think it's a big gaff for developers and MS not to have larger font settings, some of what I have seen is stupid small - Hexic HD is another one with puny text (thought HD was for it's on the HardDrive, not it NEEDS HighDef, or it's Hard to Decipher...). The system is designed to play from a couch, wireless at a distance...

But enough on that. I couldn't be MORE thrilled about this game, well short of the fact I want it NOW! =D We need a release date bad, and yes once I saw the footage of it in the first BringItHome video nothing has mattered as much! >8D And it's AWESOME to see shots with english text already !!!
