TGS06: Ridge Racer 7 trailer and gameplay

This could very well be the last TGS news for this year, and Ridge Racer 7 is as good a game as any for this. So enjoy a direct feed but rather low quality version of the game trailer, and a 50 fps version of what we filmed during the show.

A good video card is the most important thing to play the 720p videos correctly. Especially at 50 fps.

Yeah mine plays fluid but just pauses once every while, maybe my hard drives are too fragmented (35%), im using a p4 3.06 ghz and a r9800 pro, but im gonna upgrade to a conroe e6600 and 7900GTO this november, so im looking forward too playing fluid 50 fps vids, in short: thanks for the vids, they look awesome and are gonna be a good test for my new pc :)

i just got the e6300 and clocked it to 2.8ghz. Saved myself 100 quid lol. I wouldnt bother with the higher priced models when you can buy the lower one and clock it up to the same speeds. Of course you can clock the e6600 higher than the 6300 if your planning on overclocking.

I dont like the ridge racer series, it seems like you turn from the centre of your car. It just feels very strange lol.

edit: also when I first seen this games screenshots I was like well why didnt they make the 360 version looks this good. Now im looking at it, its only a little graphical improvement really. I think the first screenshots looked better than this.

edit2: actually ive changed my mind they have added quite a bit more eye candy in the environments.

Maybe it was the first-person view, but Ridge Racer 7 seems faster to me.

RR7 also has more convincing specularity and reflection mapping IMO. The environments seem much more alive.

Blah, I've got a simple dell dimension 4550 with an ATi 9500 512 ram, and I can play 720p video's perfectly. Maybe it's a miracle..

This looks quite a bit better than the Xbox 360 version (although it could've looked like this with more polishing), and this is in 1080p.

Anyone saying that is an ass. The gameplay in RR needs practice and has depth that not too many arcade racing games have (just try to win those crazy Japanese players, they're gods when it comes to RR). And do understand that this is an arcade racing game, not a simulator like Gran Turismo or Forza.

It seems like there is some pop-in in the foliage and trees in certain places. Hope they get that ironed out before release...

What's up?
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer oh yea that, Dragon Age was preloading at the time (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Maybe.. it's different for pre-loaded stuff too. (4 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (5 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (5 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (5 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (5 Hours ago)
