This game has come a long way. This is a great example of a game really coming together as it nears completion. It is difficult to call a racing game a killer app (outside of maybe GT3), but Motorstorm is easily showing off the PS3 as a premier gaming platform, much the way PGR3 did last year, and it looks really great now. They avoided the mistake of Mario Kart:DD!! by speeding up the gameplay and the overal quality, while there are areas to nitpick, is really good. It looks like they have made the right compromises to return a really great looking game, and it seems to play well as well. Hopefully it has a steep learning curve that rewards practice and technical skill and catches the infamous "fun in a bottle" factor. It seems to have the later already IMO. Love the concept and digging the overall execution.

Already looking this good, and don't they have like 3-5 more months to work on it? If it's true that this will be released in March next year. Think about what would this game look like if they got it running smoothly in 1080p (I don't want them to add 1080p if it means it won't run smoothly & they have to take some things away from it).

It's getting a bit ridiculous, when the ones that are trying to play down PS3 are saying the exact same thing with ~20 games, which is: "this game X* will be great/looks like a superb game, but I don't want to buy the console just to play this one game"



*insert any of the following games: Motorstorm, MGS4, FFXIII, Heavenly Sword, DMC4, Resistance, White Knight Story, Naughty Dog's Untitled, Virtua Fighter 5 etc.

True. And what's even more ridiculous is the thought that in the entire life cycle of th ps3, there's no chance of them buying any other game.

The game is amazing, I can't wait to play it. Th is game is only bested by Crysis when it comes to graphics, it's simply one of the best looking games I've ever seen. And not only that, but from what I read, the AI is fantastic, as well as having amazing physics, if any launch window title is going to use alot of the PS3's power, it'll be this one.

It looks photorealistic in most parts, imo.

There is a cockpit view, and it does look awesome, they just haven't shown it here.

Yes, there's a cockpit view, but you'd be nuts to use it... you need to see all 'round you so that you can steer outta the way of vehicles that are about to crash into you.

I take it you never played PGR3 then..? ;)

MotorStorm isn't some arcade racer/driving sim hybrid. It's a offroad racer with a heavy emphasis on combat and crashes.

Arent those also called trolls?True, but I also read that the cockpit view, gives a greater sense of speed that seems somewhat lacking in third person. I dont really care though, for me the speed is fine, and i really like seeing the cars fly apart when you crash into other cars or obsticles.

I suppose you could say they're a type of troll. A more insidious type. Instead of saying "POS3 suxxors" or some similar nonsense (and getting banned outright), they'll say "Sure MotorStorm looks nice, but [insert name of 360 racing game here] looks/plays better."

MotorStorm looks plenty fast to me. And being able to avoid crashes is more important for gameplay. I wonder if they could have it so you could free look with SIXAXIS control... I dunno...
