You should also understand that this game is only 15% complete. Damage will be in, abd then Frotha will look even more cack in comparison.
But really, despite the bad AI and the fact that the cars don't suffer any damage, Gran Turismos have always had a near perfect gameplay. If you drive like you "should", then the handling of cars is pretty much perfect (especially if you have those Logitech's "Made for Gran Turismo" wheel controllers). If you just goof around and don't even try to stay on the track (or off the tracks edges), then yeah, it's not a game for you.
I would have prefered it if the first showing of GT on PS3 was GT5. That would have made the GT release more exciting.
Although I love GT games, I won't be getting this.
Also, the car handling looks absolutely dreadfull, might take getting used to a but, but it doesn't look good at all...
That said, these series seem to be immensly popular, so it must be doing something right...
New assets look stunning, there's no discussion bout that. The backgrounds look as realistic as they can get, the close sorroundings - don't, but that's because they are made out of GT4 assets.
It will do a great job as a GT5 demo, very early GT5 demo.
Now people bash GT's driving system? Wow, I think the hell just froze.

Oh, what did I do know, did I offend your little baby?
Come on guys, the car models look great, enviroments are so-so, car handling looks bad, get over it.
Game might be fun to play, but don't deny the obvious flaws this game has.
But I guess any kind of criticism towards a ps3 game is now called bashing eh..?
"Bash GT's driving system"

The game is in its fifth iteration. A bit late to level criticism against the series' driving system. It's practically unimpeachable at this point.
Oh, and because the series are immensly popular and have sold many, many PS consoles, means it has no flaws..?
I'm sure it's a great game, yet again, it has it's flaws like most games do, regardless which console they're on...

I was referring to series' critical acclaim.

"The best driving model on the PS2..."
"Not many game series can be referred to as genre-defining, but in the world of console racing games, Gran Turismo fits the bill."
"...the driving model in GT4 is exceptionally executed..."
I don't care what Gamespot says honostly, I go by my own experiences, they are much more accurate to what I think of the game, believe it or not.
But, maybe it's just a matter of preference, who knows, I find the car handling in the GT series crap, maybe the rest of the world thinks otherwise, then so be it.
Oh, and I'm an undercover Xbox fanboy remember... ;)
So you believe everything Gamespot says then eh? ;)

Ok, whatever dude, you clearly can't handle a proper discussion so I'm not even going to bother with you anymore...
GT5 will probably be king again when it supports the Logitech G25 wheel with stick shift and clutch.
Anyone complaining about GT's driving model better set their tires to N2 and turn of the freaking aids and buy a Driving Force Pro.
You think Forza is any better? You can bash up cars all you like and they are still driveable... Neither game is realistic in that respect, but at least the GT series looks a whole lot better, and plays better too. How embarrassing for Microsoft when they spent years working on Forza 2, yet Polyphony Digital come along and after simply jacking up the resolution and adding a few tweaks here and there, already the game is looking leagues better.
You should also understand that this game is only 15% complete. Damage will be in, abd then Frotha will look even more cack in comparison.
forza looks soo much better than this, and i am not been biased, but forza DOES look better
and your saying you want this game even though poly have only done a few tweaks here and there ... WOOT! sounds like fifa cant wait ....................... 15% ready .. we will see when sony force it for launch.

Then how it turned out?
Gran Turismo HD is EXACTLY what is says... a HD version of Gran Turismo as we know it and thats what the game is about....... 'Premium' mode is just a bonus thrown in with a very early look into the new car models.
Regardless of how it looks, it will play as the same Gran Turismo we have all come to enjoy and love and which made it the most popular racing game ever made.
Real DRIVING simulator its called, not real crashing/looking simulator.......... thats hopefully GT5 ;-)
