8 Colin Mc Rae: Dirt images

8 Colin Mc Rae: Dirt images

Codemasters released these 8 images of Colin Mc Rae: DiRT, showing once again how good their brand new Neon engine seems to be. They most certainly are from the PS3 version of the game, since it's the reference platform for the engine, but the PC and 360 versions are confirmed.

Holy Crap!! I think this game just owned PGR3 and Forza 2 combined in the graphics department.

I haven't played any of the other Collin Mc Rae's but I loved both rally sport games so I think I will have to give this a try.

We'll see if it's going to own Forza 2...

Codemasters are great. Lying low, taking their time. Looks unrivaled.

Those boulders/rocks are terrible. Everything else is good.

this should be interesting on release. Mainly because the ps3 games ported from the 360 versions of games so far are apparantly dire. Obviosly due to the cell. But how well do ps3 developed games port to the 360 and pc. If the answer is good, then maybe your better off owning a 360, if its not good then maybe multi platform games this generation aint a good idea.

Very hit and miss in my opinion, some of it looks great while a lot of it looks kinda low resolution.

ill hold my opinion for when we see gameplay video.... remember that game on the ps3 thta was like this it ended up slow and boring ... motorstorm or whatever its called

1 Car in RACE. So you can push the limits for cars + track.
Commented on 2006-11-16 17:14:10
the backgrounds all blured out. the car models are great and lighting seems to be good too.

In motion this will look amazing judging by previous games in the series.

That's realism, if you use a camera to zoom on something, everything else that it's not focussed on is blurry.

OH my LORD! THIS is next-gen racing! Now where's that other rally game where you cross the desert?

I'm not that much into rallye games, but this looks f`n awesome !!! It looks even better than the next Gran Turismo for the PS3.

.. not sure on this cant see through all that blur, i want to see it in motion, andyone can make a pretty picture, but i want to see that dust in action and the smoothnes of it.

Yeah they always look amazing but it is usually 30fps and one car on the road only.

Screens atleast look great. Looking forward to see the game in motion. I'm pretty sure that the gameplay will be very good, as they need to change very little.

Looking forward to more news on this.
Anyone know when it should be released?

If this is in-game footage, then I'm def. gonna buy this.

Hopefully they make an effort for the 360 version to look as good if not better than the PS3 version. Having your console as the reference console it's always an advantage.

There's something about those shots that don't convince me, I think some things look a little too good to be true, but we'll see, the game isn't coming until 2007. I want to see some gameplay if the game really is this polished.

Hey thats right! What ever happened to Gran Raid Offroad?
Commented on 2006-11-16 21:16:06
Looks better then motorstorm. Can't wait to see what it looks like on the 360 and PC.

Codemasters always release screens that look way better than the final product.

They look too good and Codemasters wont suddenly learn how to code a physics engine when they've been repeating themselves since colin1.

Richard Burns Rally will still remain the #1 rally simulation. Glad we have Forza2 and GTR to hold up the credibility of racing simulation.

RBR was a great rally sim. Unfortunately, Warthog were bought by Gizmondo who subsequently went bust. Wonder what ever happened to the IP ?

I for one welcome all the driving games I can get my hands on. More so, once the MS wheel come out.
