Next-gen Harry Potter

Next-gen Harry Potter

It's no real surprise that EA announced today that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the game based on the movie, itself based on the book would be available on Wii, PS2, PSP, DS and GBA, but also on next-gen consoles. Proof inside with 3 720p images.

So another PS2-game with next gen textures. Luckily the PS3 will get the same turd as the 360 so it too will now suffer from PS2-port jobs.

If there ever is a place for loads of nice normal mapping its a castle (just see kameo or gow). Instead we see flat blur and shiny bumpmap floors. They're clueless.

I think the game's waaaaaaaaay far from done (You should know that since there isn't even a release date), so ppl shouldn't make any final judgements yet.

As far as Harry Potter games go, this one, still in such an early state... looks way better than any previous efforts.

Besides, finally the characters look like their movie counterparts... in earlier games, character models looked more like the books' cover art... (and that sucked)

  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (4 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (10 Hours ago)
  • Megido
Megido Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (11 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (12 Hours ago)
