What amazes me even more is that Sega and Namco produced graphics this good SIX FREAKIN YEARS AGO on the Dreamcast, how is anybody impressed by this now?

I agree with grifter_66

Considering how good Soul Calibur 2 still looks to this day, I'm surprised how little the fighting genre has moved forward, this also includes Tekken and DOA..

Are you blinded by your fanboyism that much? There's no way this could be done on the dreamcast. Unless you have proof of course. Which you don't.

The game looks good, but I'm not much of a VF guy, it's too technical for me.

.
Couldn't agree more.

I know what, we'll have VF5, and they can have their dreamcast SC *rolls eyes*

Btw I am a MASSIVE SC fan and love it to bits, but it's no where near VF5! Try playing the DC on a high def screen and you'll soon see the difference.

The textures on the clothing in the first two pictures is awesome.

i disagree with you on DOA, i think that is the fighting series that has most tried to do something new with the genre, and each installment adds something new...for one, its good to have a large interactive enviroment to fight in!!! VF would be so much better in my opinion if the fights could take place in an open enviroment, as opposed to just a ring with a nice background...in DOA, it actually makes a difference what ring you pick to fight in, while in other games it just makes for a different view...i still like VF, a bit too hardcore for me to really enjoy, but still a good game. i want to try this one out, the graphics look great

Why can't PS3 render nipples properly? :(
Commented on 2006-12-13 02:24:58
Nipples are for women. Real men dont need them.

look's ok

Now I'm not trying to troll but do it look better then DOA4 to you??

And the game looks a little lower in visually quality then the first pics we seen back in E3 .

Or maybe these are just bad shots. I'll wait for the HD shots befor I pass Judgment.

i bet this game looks better than DOA4 in motion, but judging from these screens, DOA4's environments are a bit sharper in detail, and they are open enviroments at that.

Not as pretty as DOA4/DOAX2, but still damn nice. The screens don't it justice, though. Make sure to check out the HD video that's floating around

"Now I'm not trolling..."

If you weren't a troll, you wouldn't have to make that disclaimer.

Lower in visual quality since E3?! The game has already been released on Sega's Lindbergh arcade board! According to some previewers, the PS3 version actually looks better than the arcade version which is already phenomenal-looking.

im not an xbot, im planning on getting a ps3 in march or so when all the bugs are worked out...the one at target freezes and the one at ebgames has to be turned off for an hour every few hours because it overheats. i know they are in kiosks, and that makes them much more likely to have problems...but i wont take any chances with a 600 dollar system.

and...im serious...this game looks worse than DOA4, and has closed ringstyle levels, but i might like the fighting more than doa4....not sure.

err nothing to do with them thinking we are "xbots" just if you slam a game they will automaticly assume your a troll it helps them sleep at night.
they seem to forget some people are not biased and just stating there opinion.

Animations, self-shadowing, backround etc. looks very nice, but I can't get used to the total package.

VF is supposed to look realistic, but this pics are looking more barbie-ish then DoA.
They should change the color-palette and the skin-textures!!

Hmmm, graphics look good, although not as good as I actually thought they were gonna be. Like they're good no doubt but there are some parts that look somewhat worse than others and stand out (like Eileen, her face and body looks good but from her elbow pads to the tips of her fingers i think need polishing). VF5, is gonna be one of the reasons i buy a PS3 next year (that and Devil May Cry) but some of these images I'm cringing over.

I think it looks great all around. There's a youtube member, VF5Akira, who has posted literally dozens of match videos and in motion it looks fantastic! This game and Metal Gear are the reasons I'm buying a PS3 next year - February can't come soon enough!

It looks decent. In motion however the game shines and it truly looks better than Dead or Alive 4, and dont worry xbots (which constitutes 80% of the posters here) -- now that Virtua Fighter is on xbox 360, you can stop pretending Dead or Alive is a good fighter.
