Page 1 2 3 >>And the dub still sounds as horrible as ever. Atlest the EU version on DC had the original audio...
its a shame shenmue 1 didnt come over to the xbox. it was much better than this one. i wouldnt mind this so much, but all three of my dreamcasts are broken. no wonder sega got out of the business.
why dont they make shenmue 3, it would be such a hit if they did it right, cmon guys MAKE IT!!! it hurts my soul to leave the game unfinished, i must finish it for my own sake and for the sake of all shenmue fans just make part 3 and finish the story please!!! >_<
Yes, the voice overs go from bad, to horrible, to funny, to cheesy, to ridiculous and to levels you can't imagine. One of the few good voices is Ryo's. Thankfully, that's not the game's strong point. There's something to these series that makes me want to play the game, maybe it's the nicely set up story, SOMETHING!
The graphics still hold up, not always, but they are still acceptable, and with the added AA, shenmue has never looked so good.
Needless to say, SEGA MUST finish up the damn story!!! Come on!
But the great advantage PS2, and the recent Yakuza Shenmue Type of Games have, are the improved animation, they still have quite simple textures, but quite good animation...
Shenmue has a Butt-Ugly Stiff animation.
Also, Yakuza doesn't have great animation. The control feels very loose. Shenmue is robotic, but the animation is smoother and just plain better than Yakuza. Maybe Tekken has better animation, but Yakuza felt really dated to me. The PS2 analog control might be partly to blame.
I'm a happy owner of the DC vers anyhow so ^^ I don't really care, what I hate thought is.... no Shenmue 3 *sob*
Might as well play it on the original Xbox on your old TV. No way I'm playing with those annoying black bars on my HDTV. Worthless update
WoooW that was really ugly.....and that was one of the greatest looking games for it time....at least the first one.
And prodygee, why is your signature now PS3? In Xbox forum of all places...
Backward compatibility update was great this time. Shenmue 2, Conker, FarCry, Fahrenheit etc. It feels like getting presents when they update that list.
On 360 of course, but Yu Suzuki is still finishing that damn Shenmue Online
...and Psychonauts. Also a fantastic game.
