360 has online though.
here's the very positive preview http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=71... it seems the game is shaping up really nicely.
I forget, AM2 is handling the PS3 version and Sumo are doing the Xbox 360 one yeah?
They did a FANTASTIC job on Outrun 2 (save for horrid load times that I suppose couldn't be helped with a game as seamless as that) so I have faith that they'll make the 360 snazzy enough in the end.
Oh and Live multiplayer.. Better prepare to get smacked around by my brother online again then. Top Spin was such a degrading experience :( - although I did come out on top in Table Tennis!
Yeah Blim? They've caught up then yeah? I remember someone saying the PS3 version looked sharper, but I really never can tell from the screenshots. (while other people seem to be brilliant judges, especially in favour of their favoured machine :D)

And yea, I think Sumo is handling this port. Hopefully to give AM2 time to work on the Virtua Fighter 5 port.
I just feel that the whole stats thing sort of defeats the purpose of a competetive match, online or off, where whether you've played more or less in the career mode you essentially have a bigger or smaller shot at winning - not because you're better, but because your character is. It's alien for me with a fighting game background.
So yeah, Table Tennis is fantastic to me. Set stats and characters where at least plenty of them are reasonably balanced and the game relies 100% on your own skill. That said, I know the create-a-character approach makes a solo experience more rewarding and engaging, especially in the face of a game that employs real life sports stars you have little to no chance of identifying with unless you're into sports.
A preview over at Eurogamer mentioned that the PS3 has 20 Top players whilst Xbox 360 and PC version have only 12. The PS3 has no online features though so those 8 players are to sort of compensate for that.

Unsurprisingly then, the usual roster of real-life likenesses will be making an appearance in the game, with 20 real-world players appearing in the PS3, PC and 360 versions [updated - Ed].
Sold.
This really makes me realize how far graphics have come considering this is just a tennis game.
Remember Pong?
