Page << 1 2Hey pumpkin you obviously forgot that this is coming out for 360. I will however agree with a large amount of the posts and say that the pics look crappy, but VF gameplay makes up for it.
PS: DOA has excellent gameplay. Amazing how everyone who really dislikes the game are horrible at actually playing the game. Same comment heads over to the people who say VF sucks. freaken fighting game noobs seriously.
But then again, I can see plenty of possitive things about DOA too.
Anyway, I think hunter was just implying that, since it's out next month on PS3 and these are PS3 screenshots..that if you saw it in motion you'd realise that they're not doing the game much in the way of justice.
I'm sure when it drops on 360, it will have the same effect :)
Can we get some screens from the arcade version posted? Cos I'm sure when I sure arcade screens for this they looked loads better!! Would be good to get a comparison.
The VT3 screenies suffer from the same issues, I think. This game will be mine, soon enough..I would have imported the Japanese version..but I think the US box art is actually better for a change.
p.s. Is that Adriana Lima? She's very lush!

Given that this is far more graphics intensive then it is processor intensive could mean that with any luck the X360 version will look better than the PS3 one, what with the better memory access and all ;o)
Personally, since I plan on getting both, I hope that they add some new features to the 360 version of the game. VT.net features (even if it's not multiplayer, which is unlikely) would be a nice addition. VF.tv features would rock.
And yea Tarnished, that's Adiana Lima, she is the bomb. I'm a bit of a model fanboy, and she's currently my favorite (favorite newbie) by a large margin.
This is why Gears of War looks so much sexier than resistance: fall of man. GoW textures are so damn high! Cheers to 512MB of RAM. I'm a 3D modeller and RAM is WAY more important than 1080p when it comes to higher resolution.
capable of rendering in higher resolution (or is the PS3 version upscaled to 1080p?) doesn't mean it has the capability to have all those high res arcade textures in its RAM. Just cause it's displayed in 1080p (maybe) doesn't mean the textures are of a higher quality.

I wouldn't worry about the crappy screenshots, regardless of what platform it's on..I would be pretty suprised if it weren't 99% arcade perfect. Segas arcade hardware has nothing on either of these consoles.
I think that people will be suprised when they see this game running on their own consoles.
The game CURRENTLY looks poor compared to the original. Again this is what people who have actually played it are saying. This doesn't have anything to do with what resolution the game is displayed at.
At 1080p sure the image will look sharper, but are the actual textures as good as the arcade?
This has nothing to do with the game running at 1080p.
I don't even know why I'm typing all this?! I'm 100% sure the game will look as good as the arcade version when it's complete. It just doesn't right now.
I think that dev spoke on this not long ago that both systems (lindbergh and ps3) are using the same gpu chip, but ps3 has less memory, so they had some problem on this. There is a link somehwere.
Oh, and they're not using the same GPU, just a simular architecture. The Lindbergh uses a 6800 AGP (NV40). The RSX, while no 8800GTX, is certainly no 6800 either.
Yes, there is a link of the interview, but i don care to search really. That is what developer said, not me.
He also says cites the Cell as a difficult transition from Linbergh (which uses a Pentium 4). He does however mention not a sentence later that they've resolved these issues.
For what it's worth, Lindbergh has more RAM than any current generation console.
We've since gotten past that challenge, so it's kind of a nice memory now, but at the time it was certainly difficult.
We're talking about that perfect arcade translation, which is essentially what Virtua Fighter 5 is doing right here, where you can essentially drop in verbatim (as best as possible -- that's the team's goal) an exact match to the game's performance and visuals based on the core of the game. So it's not looking at the PS3 or the 360 or anything else that's out and saying, "This is what our goals are here." The team is working on getting the most out of their hardware and how that transfers to the PS3, which I think has been very successfully done.
It's also interesting that the developers claim that Virtua Fighter would not fit on a DVD9 disc, with all of the items and features intact--sounds like PR fud to me--especially since we now know for certain that a DVD9 version of the game is due on Xbox 360. Can't imagine it will be missing any items.
It's actually pretty amazing what Sega has achieved with Lindbergh, if you ask me. Those identicle specs in a PC setting wouldn't be able to even come close to pulling of their arcade games. It is impressive what you can achieve with identicle hardware on a closed platform. The original Xbox project is another very fine illustration of this point.
I know the 360 port is going to be based on version C. Does anyone know what the differences are from version B? Maybe just making the controls tighter? Or could it be something bigger like Evo was (new characters?) Also could the PS3 version see an update to make it version C near to the release of the 360 version?
I don't see why this game wouldn't fit on a DVD9 disc. Compression techniques have moved on quite a bit (Allegorithmic I'm looking at you). I've always thought it was a line they spun to snuggle up with Sony. The more platforms this comes out on the better.

I would have purchased Final Tuned last gen, if they ever came out with a home port of it.
