the graphics are in no way next gen, looks like high res VF4 Evo, only in the close up cutscenes do they actually look better, and yes, the "next gen" plastic skin effect is crap, why do devs keep bloody using it.

Yea, VF5 looks way better than Virtua Fighter 4. Virtua Fighter 4 wasn't exactly a graphical masterpiece, either..but it was great. I think VF5 looks pretty awesome in motion.

I really can't wait to pick this up. Feb. 20th can't come soon enough. I wonder if they'll wind up doing an "Evolution" version of VF5. Would be sweet if we got another 2 new characters out of 5, as we did in 4.

Well, when VF4 came out it looked absolutely astonishing. I remember seeing it for the first time (and we don't usually get machines very fast over here) and the combination of it being the new VF and the visuals just... made my heart spin. (To a VF-style woosh sound, of course)

I was initially underwhelmed by the VF5 shots too, but watching it in motion it just trashes everything else with ease. In fact, the first shots of 4 had loads more impact thanks in no small part to the complete design overhaul. VF3 looked a bit weird - not that it didn't blow minds when it came out, but it was definitely an odd looking iteration of VF.
