Knew videos would soften people up. Well not Shawnzee, obviously, but people as a general term anyway.


It's frustrating sometimes when screens are all that show up here, but it's not Blim's fault or anything of course, it's not his job to promote it. Sega really just had to get these out the door sooner and people would be a whole lot more excited about it.

Anyway, long wait for fall 2007 and 360 version, with PS3 version mocking me from off the store shelves, but it'll be worth it.

Just keep the stack of money you would spend on a PS3 and look at it, It'll help you feel better knowing that much is still with you lol ;)

Yes, precisely! March is absolutely explosive even without counting the PS3. Sooo much Wii goodness, soo much DS goodness, oh and fucking God of War 2 is out! :O

When you watch a video like that, then come out and say "still looks pretty bad" you're setting yourself up for a starring role in other people's posts. But sure, okay, will try in the future.

it has its flaws with the skin textures, but it's far from "Bad"............looking forward to it on 360 ^_^

...Because their material artists are n00bs, that's why. They are trying to simulate sweat, and failing miserably. Just take one close-up look at Sam Fischer in UBI's Double Agent to see how it's done. They make his skin shader very shiny, BUT then they mask the shine off throughout 95% of his face, with a high-res specular map, so that you only see the shine in certain locations-- as individual beads of sweat or as a downward stream, not as the plastic Barbie Doll crap as seen here.


And someone needs to tell Sega that that chick with the white hair, and black bikini top , looks MAD ugly.

Yup, Blim never disappoints. The wait will indeed be hard, don't know if I can make it. I probably will cave and buy a PS3 soon :P

Well if it can make you feel any better, I also think VF5 doesn't look that hot either. The skin of the fighters looks like plastic and the lighting is pretty bad. I wasn't impressed by the arcade version when I played it in Japan either.

While the risk of getting banned is increased, I still think the notion that this game looks "bad" is madness. To each his own though, obviously.

I do love VF! But I have to admit, I'm in the shiny club.

Kage, Jacky, and Akira all look fine to me, those are my main 3 so :)

I can kind of see El Blaze, Vanessa, and Wolf being a little on the too shinny side, but eh I don't really care. It's not that big of a deal to me

Splinter Cell double agent did have decent skin textures. But it also runs at about 20 frames a second most of the time.

Looks great, much better than the screenshots. Only place the shiny skin was out of place is in the winter. I mean you have to be on some serious steroids to be sweating profusely with your nekkid ass ankle deep in snow. And they werent all shiny some were matted (akira, jacky etc).

If they can hit 60fps with those graphics even at under 720p native (yes you can forget your 1080p) it'll be a success.

Just might be the best VF since VF2 on the Saturn, and its heart warming to see AM2 still going strong when the rest of sega is pretty much failing on the home console front.
