I can't even get past the part in Geo Wars 1 arround the 150000 mark when the game goes nuts.. My highscore is 166400..
That's barely beyond just getting started.
So this has online coop? Guess I'm gonna buy this...
Also the IGN preview said that there are no weapon upgrades like in the first one, just that the weapon you start with is more powerful.
I can't wait for this though, july 30th will be a good day!
Thanks to the lazy government and lax standards for broadband, most people in the fanbase's primary country (the US) don't have a connection capable of sustaining necessary levels of latency. With that said, in a game like GW it is of absolute important for the latency between ALL PLAYERS to be less than 5 ms. Anything more will result in unnecessary deaths.
Some people could probably tolerate lagging in GW, but those of us more "hardcore" guys would probably just be pissed.
Looks pretty as always, though.
I love the game, but I don't know yet if I buy it. It costs 800 points.
Since Microsoft allowed games to be bigger and created a new price class, all new games became more expensive.
I havent seen a game for 400p recently... :(
this was a day 1 purchase for me until i heard it may not have true 4 player online.
There, they explain y online-mode would not work.
Take any fps, there are about 20 movng objects at a time on a map and still sometimes the lag is just ridiculous.
In Geometry Wars, sometimes even more then 100 objects are on the screen at once which means the lag would be 5x worse. In a game where often only some pixels decide about who lives and who dies, such a lag would ache many arses.

My 50Mbit FTH connection wouldn't have a single problem with 1000000 objects.. But because most people still have relative lousy internetconnections, and MS wants to keep the experience the same for everybody, they inforce these limitations..
Lag? What's that? ;)
All blablabla excuses again about bandwidth.. Long live the lowest common denominator nature of Xbox Live..
