Xbox 360

Announced during the X05, Crackdown had gone from being seen as a laughable title from one of the most anticipated games on the 360 in less than 18 months, mostly thanks to an excellent demo really showing what the game was all about. I think I've already said many times how much I enjoy playing (and nnow playing again) this game, so I don't think I have to state this again in details. Until the release next week I'll put online some more videos showing environments and enemies not available in the demo.

Reviews are popping up... apparently the game is only 6-8 hours in length? Features no multiplayer (aside from co-op) I think I may only rent this one which is really a shame. I expected at least a bit of a story and some length in the game

No, most games are going more online and less split screen, which kinda sucks but then again I don't have people over at my house wanting to play split-screen.. since it really is sucky.. if I got friends coming over they all have 360s and we system link which is so much nicer than playing on a single screen.

Bullshit. I don't like FPS at all and I'd definitely would have bought Crackdown if I didn't get it for free :D
I gotta start my own xbox360 fansite to get free games :>
Ontopic, demo was great, but somehow I'm still having doubts about this. Saint's Row got boring after story, and this is sandbox with no story so I'm not sure how long it will keep me entertained.

The problem with modern game reviews is that they rarely take into account the replayability factor completely. This, from the looks of it, will have a great opportunity for you to just go around exploring for ages, trying to find the agility orbs etc,

And of course, Achievements add a lot of reason to play again IMO.

hell, most reviews these days come out before the game ships and they give a judgement on the mulitplayer without really experiencing it at all. And with so much discussion on the internet about games, reviews from specific magazines, sites, are becoming less important.

I think people will be playing this long after the Halo 3 beta ends personally. I can't believe how much this turned around from distinctly 'meh' to awesome. And if you have live, are interested in Halo, theres very little reason to pass this up.

The game could last less than an hour if you were that good and had no intention of exploring. I'm sure we'll see speed runs popping up soon enough.

The game world is utterly amazing, offers the most freedom in terms of actual traversing of the geometry (ie not flying over everything or having miles of barren land) and comprises of moment after moment of sheer unadulterated FUN.

My advice is to put the game on Psychotic from the start, it makes the learning curve a lot more satisfying!

less than an hour? hmm, if you can beat the 20 bosses in less than an hour.. is this doable? dont know :)

just had the first 3 bosses and yeah, the game is oke but nothing special to me. i never really liked sanbdox games in the first place, so, this may take away some of the excitement

i will admit, i hated this game in the demo and thought it sucked.

but then i played the real game and I must say, it is DEFINITELY a blast. you just can't take it too seriously like GTA. i mean i beat the game in 2 sittings. it's really short and it is pretty damn easy. the fun however comes in trying to get all the achievements. it will be SSSOOOO hard to get all 500 agility orbs and 300 secret ones. I have about 100 secret orbs and 325 of the agility orbs, and i haven't actually sought after them yet, that's just from messing around and doing the missions.

i have my guy maxed out in everything except the driving, and i can tell you, it's much more fun to just hop over buildings and stuff than driving around the place.

it's fun just trying to get cars on top of a high building, and then just tossing it off of the building lol.

No, you can kill the kingpins at anytime it will just be a lot harder if you don't kill the sub-bosses which severely weaken the infrastructure of each gang.
