The graphics are stunning, but the socom gameplay does not suit me "sir", shame because the first one was........

Neither do I like the gameplay, mtyf.. but I just play the game because I love the visuals and the crisp 5.1 sound.

I hope everyone notices that the multiplayer's visuals look better than in GRAW1.

I love every Clancy game. I'm sure I will love this one too. So many good games, so little time.

GOW mp owns, so I'm not sure why you're taking cheap shots at it. The game was designed around 4v4--as is the map design--no loss there. Horrible lobbies? Atleast you can join a game in progress and not sit at a lobby menu for 20 minutes waiting for a round to end. No map selection? 12 beautiful maps--no selection? You could have atleast bitched about real issues--like the fact that all three game modes are basically the same.

I understand you're taking offense to one persons statement about GRAW and you're trying to turn it around on something he likes--but that's pretty lame too--it's not GOW's fault that someone insulted GRAW2. You don't need to hate on one game to support another.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know they had patched GOW, to allow the host to switch to whatever map they wish to play on demand, like any Xbox live title, and not have to cycle through the maps in a predetermined order. Nice to know you can do that now.

There aren't many lobby options in game, you're right. They should work on that. Are you trying to imply that GRAW had perfect game lobbies? Because making people wait 15-20 minutes to join a game is cool, right? And you can change the map order--you always could--you just have to do it before you spawn the room. I misunderstood what you meant by a lack of map selection--I thought you were commenting on quality/variety...

Still, this is going in a bad direction, and that was not my intention. You're entitled to think whatever you want about Gears of War (no matter how wrong you actually are about it)--but not everyone is going to love GRAW either..it's certainly not without its own flaws (including the damn lobby system).

I am not, and never was defending the statement that all Clancy games suck with no reason / no valid points to back that up--I'm just saying that you don't need to take it out on a fantastic game. Gears of War said nothing about Ubisoft or their Tom Clancy games--which is pretty big of Epic if you ask me--since staff from this specific game have said plenty about Gears of War.

Actually GOW is even worse than most of the Clancy shit I just never cared to change my avatar. I still play Unreal Tournament (99 and 2k4) and Counter-Strike (1.6 and Source) everyday, which you can't say shit about because they are both still the pinnacle of what a FPS should be and no 360 game (especially FPS) has come close to touching them.

That's just because of the controls.. FPS games on gameconsoles always will have more arcady gameplay due to the fact they are played with controllers.. Other then that there's no difference in FPS games on the PC or gameconsoles..

Or you should include the fact the PC is a more open environment that also has a lot of community created content like mods and maps etc.. That combined with the controls makes the PC king of FPS gaming, and that won't change anytime soon..

Unless offcourse more & more developers start making console exclusive FPS games (I hope not).. I prefer FPS on the PC aswell, but I did play GoW and Halo on the Xbox (360), just because they are exclusive and too good to not play for me.. Wasn't a big fan of Halo 2, but I enjoyed Halo 1 and GoW..

I'm not talking about controls though. I've played plenty of FPS on consoles with great controls (UC, RTCW, Halo) and I've also played a shitload with horrible controls.

I'm not talking about mods or the community on PC either. And I'm not talking about PC being the king of FPS.

What I'm talking about is how there isn't a FPS on Xbox or 360 (or any console) thats better than Unreal Tournament or CS- gameplay wise. UC on Xbox was a good port for it's time and CSX was a decent port too, both were two of my favorite console FPS aswell as RTCW. But unfortunately they all got old quick unlike the PC versions with user created content.

My biggest complaint with console shooters is that they are too easy for hardcore shooter fans. Halo 2 was a complete joke with its auto-aim. Hit detection on console FPS is either off by a mile or the hitbox is the size of Texas, the damage and fire rate are always unrealistic too. Don't even get me started on the retarded ass huge crosshairs just about every one of them has. And the 3rd person cover which is the new thing for console shooters is the cheapest unrealistic shit ever that helps promote camping.

I agree with you that Halo 2 was a joke, in a lot of ways; but for the most part, it still ruled. Gears MP and SP is the greatest thing right now. Nothing can beat it, on any platform. Period.

Your entitled to your opinion, but I can tell you don't play PC shooters often or you wouldn't be so pleased by the crap they keep feeding us on Xbox/360. That will all be over though hopefully the end of this year when the heavy hitters are released.

I'm sorry although many of the FPS titles on the console have been of a high quality...
None of em has ever even reached the level of those FPS-games on the PC....

Counterstrike, Unreal Tournament, Quake, Battlefield those series are still the top of the bill in most players books....

Why is it that any time I praise Gears, someone says I don't play PC shooters? I have a high-end PC, and I have owned virtually every shooter on the platform since wolfenstein with titties on the walls.

I own all of those games that you listed, firewire. I guess I'm just weird then, cuz I think Gears is the greatest game ever made. Yay me.
