Frostbite in action

Frostbite in action

You may not know the name Frostbite yet, but you will learn a lot about it in the next few years since it's the next-gen 3D engine developed by DiCE for Battlefield: Bad Company and certainly more games to be announced. These images are from a technical demo of the engine, even though no one seems to know where they originated from. Anyway, this proves again the the developers of Rallisport Challenge 2 know how to display a realistic looking terrain. Now where is my Rallisport 3?

They aren't alowed to make RS3. MS owns the brand and MS would love them to make a third but I think EA will start to whine then "they are our ppl.. not yours get your own toys!"

Looks great. From what we have seen of Bad Company I was kinda worried it was going to be confined to close urban areas, nice to see that it may have some wide open expanses as well.

Imagine playing Operation Flashpoint with environmental graphics like those - would be sweet.

Just imagine how awesome RSC3 would be in this engine! But we'll probably never get it. *cries*

Expect that those open environments aren't from BF BC. But the one with the barbed wire could be.

Those landscapes look amazing.. that river looks so real.

Picture 7 looks so real. Lots of geometry in the distance, very nice.

Hear hear!

I still cannot believe MS doesn't have RSC3 on the Xbox 360.. Now we have to do with CM:Dirt and crap like Sega Rally etc..

The detail on all the pics is very impressive indeed. I would like to see a comparison between CryEngine2 and Frostbite.
