Xbox 360

It's a been a long time since we had some new Project Offset info, but a small teasing site appeared out of nowhere, and seems to offer new stuff for every 1000 unique visitors. A pretty nice idea, and it already gave us this nice new image.
Update: And a second image already!
Update2: Third image!

The second shot looks more like what the trailers indicated, both look excellent.

If they manage to fit this on the 360, given that the GPU in it is nearly a generation old, I would be very impressed.
Generation old compared to what? I hope you are talking the 88-series nvidia because that is the only gpu out there more advanced that I know of. To be really technical, the 360 gpu is only "half" a generation old. As it uses dx9.5 and is only missing a geometry shader(but can do this task through software mode) to be fully dx10 compliant. The ps3 gpu is the "old" gpu being a slimmed down 7900gt.

I applaud the ones who manage to be disappointed at these images! Well done indeed. People's negativity on the Internet never ceases to surprise me. This looks fantastic for gods sake!

yeah I was gonna say actually the 360 gpu isnt really a generation old at all. At has quite alot of features that the new AMD/ATI cards are gonna have. Far more advanced stuff than that of the ps3s gpu which is a standard no thrills dx9 card.

edit: hmmmm there is a click through this morning. Wasnt one yesterday....

Looks good, but if this is in-game then there has definately been a downgrade.

We are missing stuff like in engine motion blur and the lighting/shadowing doesn't look quite as good as the previous. The shaders are less impressive and textures seem to be of a lower resolution. I have noticed a bunch of things are noticably more impressive in the second shot so I am thinking that might be doing something where they release more impressive shots as more time goes by.

And some chuckle head talks about the blur in the first shot YES I have noticed it but it is not the same thing. What you see in that shot is plain old depth of field which alot of games use these days. Also, before someone points out that motion blur is used in alot of games, I will point out what I am talking about is in a whole other class entirely.

Unlike the motion blur used in most games, this dof was done as part of the rendering process and not post process. It was genuinely realtime and and applied through the scene. Furthermore, it was always on. This is part of what gave the game its CG-ish look.

Once, again I don't believe these screens represent the final state of the game but even if they do it still looks great. So long as the game is good, I'm good.

look at the 2005 vids and then tell there hasn't been a downgrade. Remember this is supposed to be a high end PC title. It still looks nice but no where near shockingly impressive as it used to. Also, I have a feeling that these screens don't represent the game in it's current state but we'll see.

There seems to be alot of people comaring this to target footage form ages ago, prob why there is a difference. ALso it is not finished adn we have also become more accustomed to next-gen hd stuff. The charachter model looks low-ish on polys but the depth of filed and the texture res seems great. Had forgotten about this and am now intersted again.

For everyone screaming downgrade, take a second to realize that in the previous videos they were using all the power of the engine on one ogre/dragon/group of trolls for an animation test.

Once you try and actually build a game world filled with level geometry, npc models all while running AI and physics things change.

I love the look of it.

It is suppose to be the FIRST Fantasy First-Person "action" game...not like Oblvion, thank god.

Myro the reason why the Playsyde doesn't have it is because it is only coming for PC and xbox 360...for now :S...

But yeah cool looking game, and I can't wait until we see more images of it, they have been quite silenced these around 2 years or so.

I hope we can like choose and create our class and appearence and get to go into the action and have RPG elements to it.

But this one is actually going like a FPS shooter style, without the shooting.

This one is going for that epic feel of both oneplayer and co-op both in campaign and multiplayer deathmatches and everything.

but yeah, I forgot Dark Messiah.
