Page 1 2 >>Oh about the 07 version... you can control the ball in the air (spin) throughout the whole shot, or was I imagining it? :)
Maybe they'll bring 08 back to this planet at least.
Yeah... still quite mediocre, especially the character model.
your joking about the character model bit right?
There's just a feeling of lack of polish that I get from looking at the images of this game, still.
The model could have a lot less polygons and look more natural and better is what I mean.
I stopped playing their sports games years ago, its such a niche market, that the only people buying this crap are the diehards and sometimes (as with the nfl games) its really because there is no other choice for them.
SCREW EA.
Just another pushed out ea game, where they rehash last years crap and slap a new year number/version number on it.

The game itself looks pretty much exactly the same as 07 with a slight use of DOF or blurring!
Its Litterally just another money grabbing franchise from EA.
Tiger Woods 200*... Let it go guys..!
Nobody ever complains about all the crapy games coming out on PC, there are hundreds of them each year, if it doesn't appeal to you move along, nothing to see here...
;)
Saying that, the graphics on tigers face are very impressive. It looks like he is conveying different emotion in most of those shots.
talk about jaggies specially the first pic!!!! man they really need to sort this out imo
Gears of war has NO Anti-Aliasing at all... when a game is in motion it looks infinitely better especially where AA is concerned.
You guys think that his model is low poly? What crack are you smoking do you even know what that means? How is this:
http://images.xboxyde.com/gallery/public/5325/1249...
even remotely low poly, if anything it needs to be scaled down a bit, a lot of the divisions on that model are un-needed.
I'm troubled by the fact that effort is put into things like that. Couldn't developers be more effective in their game building, save a few million bucks and some time (that for instance could be used to add some significant, fun gameplay tweaks) instead of misdirecting attention like that? At least the choke-hold the PS2 has had on developers for a while has taught them to prioritise and work on the overall impression you get when you play the games.
Someone told me that in the "HD era", screenshots sell games though. I never thought about it like that before, but I can totally hear someone say "wow, look at the detail on a small insignificant thing like the golf club - yaaaay!" and then never notice it ever once they get the game.
EA's artists are horrible. Of any game on the market, Golf should look real. Instead it looks stylized and I am sure there will be jaggies again this year.
and also a more... subtle blur? It seems to go for clean to blurred at a set distance, no gradient to the blur - for example http://images.xboxyde.com/gallery/public/5325/1249...
just behind the bush, it goes blurred. Also, look at the grass on the hill.
The thing is - I didn't even study these pictures closely. This was an instant observation that would bug me constantly if I were playing the game.

BlimBlim, you need to start mentioning the jaggie situation on every new batch of screenshots, cause its just getting ridiculous, FSAA being added as a kind of, post process, thus jaggies are apparent.
Well, luckily they EA got the textures on the end of the club right! Phew! Would've been awkward otherwise! Imagine playing a golf game with low res textures on a model that 99.9% of the time consists of a tiny speck on the screen. Disaster!
