Pitpass day

Pitpass day

2007-05-12 11:29:10 by Driftwood

After a pretty exciting week in the gaming world, the pitpass returns with some new images and more importantly some new footage of the long awaited Ring: you'll have the chance to appreciate the phenomenal sense of speed you get in the fastest cars. We're also offered a short interview of Che where the differences between the demo version and the retail version are revealed - so, as expected, pretty much nothing as the final game will be very similar in terms of graphics and sound. There's also some info about the demo content such as the AI level and Che adds that in the final game it will also be possible to tune the wheel completely. Also note that a hotlap contest will open on May 15th. More details in the pitpass.

The game looks better in the replays. It's just stupid they still update the pitpass with replays. It doesn't look that good ingame, we all know that.

Replay and ingame graphics are the same the only difference is motion blur in replay.

awesome. what I really like about forza2 is the sense of speed. If the speedo says 200 I actually believe it. what I hate is that the graphics look twice as good in the replays then in any actual gameplay. But imo the handling makes up for that. And it'll keep me and many other carnut satisfied until something better comes along :p

But I wonder if it will be possible to ban certain assists on your own server. I certainly hope it's the case because I am a purist :p I haven't even enabled any assist in the demo. Not once lol :p

No ... replays have 4xAA as well apparently. Just look how smooth the edges are around the cars in the replays. That's AA. Not the result of motion blur.

The Ring looks a lot better than Mugello so what you see here is pretty much what you have in gameplay. When I played the preview version at Blim's the ring was the most impressive track I played on (didn't try them all though).

SpoBo (songebob:P), there is both motion blur and more AA during replays, with that they can't maintain 60 fps, plus replays look better with a low fps (ihmo).

Obviously every track has it's own way of showing a replay, you see a lot of new camera angles which we didn't see in the demo, which fit to this track.

You guys :D, you can race with the steeringwheel! So you can make corners so smoothly, the controller is crappy if it's about good sim's like this.

Interesting Driftwood so maybe i wasnt being optimistic that other tracks look better then others.

This is what i was thinking because i have seen other tracks on videos and they look better then what i have seen in demo of Muggello.

As I said before, some tracks look horrible (NYC) while others look good (the Ring). It's a shame but unfortunately that's the way it is. :(

It has not, i have the demo and they look exactly the same.

The only difference is the motion blur.

Check ingame and raply mode in the same positions and you will see they have exactly the same graphics.

There is no more AA in replay.

Think I would say they where the same as well, The game deffo has FSAA in game, if you look closely on the bonnet view you can see the FSAA being implemented. Maybe not 4x but there is at least 2x FSAA.
I think half the problem is the relativity low resolution of a HD T.V. for it's size, It's nearly twice the size of my monitor yet support a much lower resolution.

10turn should know it... they offically said its 4xFSAA @ 30fps in the replays and 2xFSAA @ 60fps ingame. everybody that has a jaggie fest on his HDTV should try the VGA cable (reference setting @ intermediate or expanded), if possible lower the sharpness on your TV and turn down the contrast a little - I simply love it! I was very upset at first but know I really like it - not the best grafics I have ever seen but very very solid and the gameplay is just awesome!!

One thing to note: 3D grass!!

You have to mess with the audio levels. Everything is at max when you start, and yeah, it doesn't sound that great like that.
