Gamersyde Diaries: Dark Messiah Elements

Gamersyde Diaries: Dark Messiah Elements

After our impressions of Haze a couple of days ago, here is our new GSD focused on Dark Messiah of Might & Magic: Elements. As you'll see in our feature, the game was still under heavy construction. On the other hand, the sword combat already looked great and didn't seem to have suffered during the port, so there's no need to worry. We hope to see the game in a better shape very soon.
Erratum: Dark Messiah Elements is developed by Ubisoft Annecy, and Pierre-Olivier Clément is game designer at Ubisoft Annecy. No Arkane Studio there.

I enjoyed this game on PC, but it was pretty buggy when it was first released. I really hope it's not the case when this version is released. Snoopers, do you know if there will be anything extra added in to the game, or are the answers in the video (downloading now, btw)?

Alot of answers in the video. To be short: YES. A lot of new multiplayer stuff, and you'll have an extra 2 hours of solo gameplay, new weapons etc...

I only played demo on PC, but really enjoyed, although never bought it. Might get it for the 360 :D

I borrowed it for the PC from my brother. I couldn't actually get past a certain level because it would crash no matter what version I used! Fingers crossed the 360 version works.

I can't see that happening on the 360 version mate >_< Otherwise they would be in for a bumpy ride :D

So is this the same game that came out on PC but with extra content ? If so...cool. Never got to play this one.

Edit. Should have waited til I actually watched the video.

as with half life 2, the physics based gameplay made this game, it got some pretty poor reviews becasue i think a lot of people where expecting oblivion 2. when in fact it has more in common with a FPS then an RPG. its linear, its fast paced, and imo, its just fun. definate buy for me. unless they really mess something up. or its just a poor, unoptimised port.

to those that have played is it better than oblivion

completely different games. just becasue they artistically look similar, doesnt mean their anything alike gameplay wise (another example would be overlord and fable, visually similar, completely different in gameplay). if you expect oblivion 2, or even compare this to oblivion your gonna be dissapinted. mesiah is a FPS at heart. only instead of melee combat they have swords and instead of guns they have magic and arrows.

I've seen the PC version in action and thought it looked great. The graphics in this video however look pretty bad I'm not going to lie. It really does look like an xbox 1 game save the HDR lighting.

  • Burglarize
Burglarize Just watched 'The Duel' myself. Pretty good. Although why they chose those horrific filters for the animation I'll never know. Also, the music was straight-up Naruto, even if it is traditional. (1 Hour ago)

SimonM7 @digi_matrix: It's way before the games. (4 Hours ago)
  • Megido
Megido Animation and art was terrible, the samurai and japanese stuff was awful too. Why not just let halo be halo? (5 Hours ago)
  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix wow, that Duel story was pretty awesome. I've always been interested in the Elites, but they being very Japanese-like was a bit jarring. This must be set AFTER Halo 3, right? So sad :( (5 Hours ago)
