Gamersyde Diaries: Jade Raymond interview

Gamersyde Diaries: Jade Raymond interview

For this new GSD, enjoy an exclusive interview of Jade Raymond, producer of Assassin's Creed we had the pleasure to meet during the Ubidays. Frankly, we were afraid nothing would come out of this little talk as the game is still under high secrecy, but Jade didn't hesitate to reveal a ton of new details about Assassin's Creed in this twelve minutes long video interview we're offering you today.

Also as a producer she very well could have brought the idea for the game to ubisoft herself. Many producers become such because they want to make their vision happen, but lack the necessary tools (writers, programmers, etc) to do so. So before you jump the gun and say, "She's just a producer" you need to find out why she's a producer.
She's as involved as it gets but Assassin's Creed has been created by Yanis Mallat, the guy behind Pop: Sands of Time (oh and fun fact about this: his title back then was... Producer).

I think skybox is flipping out about people thinking she's a dev because in one of my posts i said "jade and her team". Was i wrong in including her with all the efforts of the actual dev team?

I'm so looking forward to this game. I love the crusades theme mixed with the assassin theme. The gameplay itself looks pretty hi-qual too.
The overlays/filters you use in your videos rock pretty much! It's kinda GoW style :)
By the way, Ms. Raymond could be a perfect Lara Croft model don't you think so?

Nice for her to do the interview, and even be so insightfull about the game - revealing new things. Best thing so far. And yes, she is hot but that is only a plus - as she acts like a real professional. Great interview.

She doesn't really make Assassin's Creed, she's just a Producer....it's just a PR thing..

There we go again.
I can't believe someone registered just to post something that idiotic.

Does it really matter?

It's an exclusive interview and enjoy it for what it is.

come on, we all know it's true to some extent..anyways the game reminds me a lot of Thief: Deadly Shadows which rocked.

One more month till we see more gameplay footage.....I hope they play the ps3 version at E3. I know that its been a year since they debuted the 360 version, so any framerate improvements would most likely be due to progress on the game, but im curious to see how the ps3 version is coming along.

She is so hot it's sick, and she is smart...and makes good games, and seems genuinely nice. Man, there should be rules against this...or even better, more women like her.
Oh so it's not just me then..........

Anyway, Assassin's Creed looks to have much potential.

@ Snoopers :

Yannis mallat isn't the creator of Assassin's Creed, it's Patrice Desilets.
And Patrice Desilets was also the director of POP sands of time. Yannis Mallat was "just" the producer. :-)

In Danish throwing knives are called "kaste knive". Looking forward to this game and thanks for the interview, good info! And we use subtitles all the time, so no problems there.

360. The build is from September 2006.

I guess very probably on 360. Despite being announced first as PS3 exclusive, the game was already under development under a different title at times when a PS3 dev kit was nowhere to be seen so the 360 version is still probably a bit ahead of the PS3 version in its production cycle.

It's very simple :
PoP Sands of time : Patrice Desilets (Director), Yannis mallat (Producer)
PoP 2 : Jean-Christophe Guyot (Director), Yannis Mallat (Executive Producer)
PoP 3 : Jean-Christophe Guyot (Director), Yannis Mallat (Executive Producer)

Assassin's Creed : Patrice Desilets (Director), Jade Raymond (producer) and Yannis Mallat is now the CEO of Ubisoft Montreal. ^^

Signed : an ubisoft montreal historian ! :D

Ok, now I see the picture. But it's strange because I know the idea behind Assassin's Creed came from Yanis. At this time he was working on Sands of Time, and he said to some of my friends how are journalists that he wanted to do a game during the crusades etc. That's why I've been a bit lost about the all who's who.

You should have more interviews if possible :) I now that distances are quite big, but site should have a section where all the interviews and non-gamevideos/screenshots are. Easier to navigate.

PS. Are you attending E3 this year?
