Page << 1 2 3DOESNT LOOK GOOD AT ALL COMPARED TO SAINTS ROW! wow i can shoot out windows(I can do that in SR).
1. Saints Row has a heavy focus on crime and gangs (like GTA)
2. Has an open city to explore with a bunch of side missions to do (like GTA)
3. can steal cars, murder anyone, own a house, and customize character (last two were San Andreas but first two were pretty much all of the GTA's)
what GTA has that Saints Row doesnt:
1. more missions
2. more compelling story
3. better voice acting
4. better humor
5. has better replay value (more hours of gameplay)
6 a more realistic way of breaking into cars (for GTA IV)
thats about it since Saints Row pretty much stole the rest of the GTA stuff like car jacking and police chases. so if someone had to choose between buying saints row or GTA IV, GTA would be the clear winner since overall it has more things to do then Saints Row and you would get your moneys worth. I rented Saints Row and beat it and found no good reason to go back to play its crappy side missions which all play out the same way.
I think I can now safely say: The future of gaming looks promising.
First lets look at the 'FACTS'.
It is completly obvious GTA has a huge fanbase, much larger then Halo.
GTAIII / GTA:VC / GTA:SA have all sold almost double that of Halo and Halo2.
Halo 1 : 6~ million
Halo 2 : 7~ million
GTA III: 12~ million
GTA VC: 14~ million
GTA SA: 15~ million
But on the other hand, was terribly suprised with the decrease in quality in gfx from the other trailer to this one, sometimes this felt a bit like a ps2 game (graphicwise) :/
Though this does look good in terms of graphics and cinematic appeal, I'm a little bit disappointed this's not an in-game video showing how the gameplay is going to be, most of it is taken either from cut scenes or fixed camera position.
I really hoped I'd see the magic of Euphoria engine in action or how the aiming system's going to be.
Thanx Pipo.
As for the aiming they have said it anit auto no more
I think this game runs on the in house Rage Engine?

The press release from Feb only said that Rockstar had licenced Euphoria "for future games" or some such. I can't wait to see it in action if it's coming to GTA4, though.
can't wait :)
Well, Euphoria only handles character interaction / physics afaik, the full rendering engine is something else. Anyway, it's good stuff, but I haven't seen Rockstar announce that they would be using it for GTA4, even though I hope so too.

also am i the only 1 who thinks this game is gonna f*cking KIK ASS!!!!!!
I just want to correct you: Halo 2 made a staggering $125 million on its first day. Thats more than any movie ever took in on its opening weekend, and obviously more than any game. Get your "facts" straight.
euphoria has benn confirmed for gta

umm, he was refering to the amount of units sold, not the amount of money. Also, Halo 2 was basically a one week wonder, it sold huge numbers for that opening week, but afterwards that was it, GTA had a big opening week, not as big as halo 2, but it continued to sell big the following week, and the following week, and so on.
Some of you speak negative about GTA as if your opinion is what most people think... I'll tell you this, its not.

So some of you might think the sequels/newer GTA's might not be as good as the older ones, but a majority of people think different, as you can see in those numbers. If VC was crap compared to III, people wouldn't have bought SA... but more people bought SA.
I know these are numbers, and numbers dont always represent everything... but numbers like these, show a lot.
We all know GTA is known for its amazing gameplay. A gameplay no other GTA type game can match... So whether or not this game has amazing graphics... I can assure you the gameplay will be stunning. With games like GTA, Screenshots dont do it justice, its once you get in and play.
I'm sure there will be many unique features (nongraphically) that Rockstar has up there sleeve in gameplay thatl make us amazed... so wait til you see everything :D
But this is just my opinion slightly based on facts
Does that mean it's the best movie ever?
However, the more I watch the trailer, the more I can spot subtle details and movements that really make a next-gen game.
They just really gotta fix that framerate. And there better be a jet-pack!
No one is saying this game won't COMPLETELY DESTROY Saint's Row, cuz it will in almost every way, but the visuals sure don't (but that's OK. I mean, no loading times, huge indoor areas, more detailed stuff, better art style).
