First Killzone 2 image

"Yup guys, it's real. It [went out] a little bit early, but it's 100% ingame". The words are from Seb Downie, QA Manager at Guerilla, and it gives us the confirmation that the Killzone 2 screenshot flooding the web since a few hours is legit. Because I am a very polite person, I will only advise you to forget everything you saw of the game at last year's E3 before opening this news. This is becoming embarrassing.

Wow, that looks horrible. I might understand if it's alpha, but the alpha single player shots of Halo 3 looked much better than that over a year ago.

Guess I'll wait to see something from the presentation, but that makes every other FPS in development look beautiful in comparison.

Well that may be true but it will probably will look better than Halo 3 anyway, i don't consider Halo 3 to be a graphical beast(im guessing but i could be wrong when the final build is shown). The thing Killzone 2 is competing with is the E3 video shown 2 years ago, if it doesn't at least resemble that kind of quality then its gonna be looked on as negative. Its been MIA for 2 years and now its put up or shut up time with Sony cuz they help create this monster, now they have to live with it if it don't deliver. A lot of consoles can be sold or lost based on this game created from the hype they made years ago with this.

putting my dear behind on line I would like to ask: did you sincerly expect graphics like the e3 trailer. I certainly didn't. This screen look nice and shows off a few tech things if you look closely.

the first killzone was a great looking game on ps2 while it didnt really push gameplay to new heights. I'm sure guerilla will make a nice looking game again.

Well its in low lighting, the composition is poor, and the shadows are very aliased. I can't imagine out of all the screenshots they could choose, they choose this one. I'm not saying the game will be bad based on this, but the shadows are terrible when you think about the 2005 E3 Trailer. Just a poor choice of screenshot to release. It could look and play great by the time it releases, but this is inexcusable as a Killzone 2 first impression in months and months.

It's not a picture on the wall, that was photoshopped. Notice how tape covers the white area in the upper right corner of the poster in the second image, but it's not there in the original screenshot? That's because the second image is a fake.

The rifle is skewed to the left with a light blur filter applied to cover it. Notice how lighting on the rifle is exactly the same (only a bit stretched and blured), but the rifle is in a different position so it should be different. The white area in the scope should also be different, but it's exactly the same.

I THINK THAT IMAGE IS THE MULTIPLAYER IMAGE. CAUSE THERE IS A MULTIPLAYER FEATURE IN THE GAME IF NOBODY KNEW.

its already been confirmed to be from the campaign mode.

If it looks like this, it better run at 60fps, have enormous detailed enviroments like Rachet and Clank or have some of the best looking animations scene in a game eg original Killzone.
