"Yup guys, it's real. It [went out] a little bit early, but it's 100% ingame". The words are from Seb Downie, QA Manager at Guerilla, and it gives us the confirmation that the Killzone 2 screenshot flooding the web since a few hours is legit. Because I am a very polite person, I will only advise you to forget everything you saw of the game at last year's E3 before opening this news. This is becoming embarrassing.

For a game that's been announced ages ago, and build hype up from the beginning with lies from that Sony spokeman, this looks awfull. For that they get what they deserve.

I'm very excited about their presentation, and how it will be received by the fans...

Judging from that one screen I would definitely say Killzone 2 looks pretty good. But it's only one screen and I'll definitely need to see more. Of course it doesn't look as good as a CG trailer. Use common sense.

from the looks of thin gs, the big one is FROM the small one, it looks scaled....either that or the game just looks like UBEr crap...but considering their showing this for 2.5 hours...i cant imaging it looking like this, you'd at least think it would be matching resistance fall of man...this looks horrible tho....i say scaled....otherwise they may as well can the game now.

Resistance looks quite a bit better too.. but I'll hold off any serious judgments until the demonstration. Not a good sign though.

The demo is only one level according to USA Today. The event lasts 2.5 hours but that will consist of interviews etc. as well.

As for the source of the screen it was on IGN and also the Sony run blog ThreeSpeech

Seriously ppl we can't judge the game based on one screenshot which I personally dont find that bad considering the real time lighting from a muzzle flash and the normal mapping on the characther models.

Texutres could use improvement but they are also on par with COD4.

They are holding it in a small sushi restaurant so I would expect plenty of sake and food to sway the opinions and keep them interested! :P

Interesting theory, however...just look at ANY screenshot from Gears of War, from any possible angle, from any location, and you are looking at CG quality visuals.

I personally don't know why everyone's so impressed with COD4's visuals. Of course the game will be glorious, but I don't know about the visuals, personally.

I, like many others, wonder why they even chose to make another one of these killzone games-- especially after the first game...

Short answer; the universe is really cool both lore wise and aesthetically. It's a certain type of gritty scifi that isn't covered elsewhere. Also, Killzone was pretty much the most iconic FPS for the PS2 and it has a fanbase and established brand thanks to that and Killzone: Liberation.

I liked the first Killzone. It wasnt perfect but like Simon said, the universe is really cool, and im hoping they can really do justice to it with the second one.

It's not about whether it looks good or not - it does, but according to Sony it was supposed to look much better than anything else out there and that's just not the case. It's comparable to today's most beautiful games, yet it probably won't be out for at least another six months (possibly more, if it's really in pre-pre-alpha).

But maybe it's just a bad screenshot, we'll know in several hours.
