"Yup guys, it's real. It [went out] a little bit early, but it's 100% ingame". The words are from Seb Downie, QA Manager at Guerilla, and it gives us the confirmation that the Killzone 2 screenshot flooding the web since a few hours is legit. Because I am a very polite person, I will only advise you to forget everything you saw of the game at last year's E3 before opening this news. This is becoming embarrassing.

I think killzone was hyped mainly because it was going to be showing the ps3s true power. But I dont think its possible in what is essentially a first generation game.
It aint an easy task, 360 has the directx library, free AA and essentially pc development environments. Making the process simpler. Unreal 3 for instance works like a charm.
The ps3 has no such luxuries. The SPEs are confusing, the compression is horrible, the AA hits the framerates hard and the development environments arnt very user friendly. So if you want a game to look good you have to put the hours in.
The ps3 needs a good few games out and some practice before you will see some jaw dropping stuff, it might be getting lots of stick at the moment but you no it isnt going away and despite losing a few games to the 360 camp its still got plenty of backing.
I do think for now though im happy with my 360 and wii, once sony get some games out and add rumble im there. But I wont be buying killzone unless they have completely changed the gameplay.
edit: oh and a huge price drop. In uk its £425 with a controller, id buy it for £300 with a game and hdmi cable.

Enough with the fanboy baiting crap. There's too much going on this week for people to get into this.. just hold off until Sony shows the goods for real later this week. For the record though, Guerrilla has said themselves that this is indeed a screenshot of single player.
