The very kind nvgvrez sent us these scans from the latest Famitsu Weekly, released today in Japan. They are actually showing some new stuff in there, and if I'm not misstaken, the very first image of the map Epitaf.
I have to admit, I wasn't really psyched before. Not like i was for H2. Like I knew Halo3 is gonna be great game, but it never really hit me- but now im absolutely crazy-psyched for this game. I'm going nuts know. I mean, the beta was good but everyone was saying there wasnt enough new stuff and it was more like Halo2.5...it felt like they were holding back or something and focusing more on tweaking than adding innovation or w/e. I just cannot wait for this game now at all. The implications of all of this stuff for team play and everything is just absolutely amazing, the elephant looks awesome and I am so looking forward to The Forge and the new Brute vehicle and just wow and i bet there is even more we dont know about. I think Im gonna go beyond my Halo2 hype if i see anymore new Halo3 stuff. gaaaaaahhhhhhh

Normally the Covenant just glass a planet completely if it's of no value, however there have been many examples where they were looking for relics on the planet and send teams down to investigate, why would you blow up an area when you think it holds the key to the holy grail? All information points to the Ark being in Africa, so why would they destroy the area if they are going to want to activate it?

if you read my previous comments nowhere do i mention that they have to destroy what they are looking for... i said the game doesn't give you a feel that great epic war is taking place (it doesn't have that war tone atmospheric mood you find in GOW,KZ2,MGS4).
and they's no way you can conquere place without partial detroying it (realistically speaking ), the covanent are not explores (aka christopher columbus looking for tresaure)

well, maybe the covenant just arrived in this area, and master chief is just meeting them head on. plus they didn't arrive with a very large fleet in halo 2 because they didn't know we where here. in fact the humans where fending the small fleet off pretty well at first.
I would expect to see this level more war torn at the end based on the trailer where master chief is watching the covenant ships vaporise the forest.
P.S. not trying to argue, just trying to guess at an upside. maybe the experience will be like "Oh man, look how such a beautiful place on our earth got totally annihilated by the covenant. DAMN THEM!" hehe.

Of course it's not as big as in the West, but a large amount of the people in Japan that have an affiliation with xbox, are Halo fans. Even despite the fact that they aren't that fond of FPS because of the fact that they get motion sickness pretty fast.

Maybe that's because it's not LOCKOUT at all!! >_>
They just said it was the spiritual sucessor of lockout, meaning it's of similar style of play, and probably will be as popular, just like valhalla is the spiritual sucessor of coag/blood gulch.
THIS IS GHONNA BE SO WICKED< the elephant is wicked looking, the water is spectacular, the whole concept of real dense follage is great, this games gonna so be my favorite of the 3 :)

That was never a problem before, all the halo games have had lush green. All of them.
And not all the levels will be lush green, same as the other halo games. Also, not every place on the planet has been destroyed yet.
OK I have actually seen this shit in the next addition of EGM (please do not sue) there is a appaernt "elephant tank" which is huge as hell. yea. its got turrets on the top and stuff. they showed alot of cool stuff. that flying thing, is the human equivalent to the banshee. two people get on the sides. they say its campaign only but the guy who wrote the article is thinking it will also be incorperated in the multiplayer. the hammer is BIG as you can see, online single player, and has a short throw foward like the sword. it can also do like a shockwave. they talk about how the scarab will be AI this time so it chases you, and there are multiple ways to take it down. you must all know about the online multiplay 4 player co-op thing. they show off alot of cool new shit, and there are 3 different covers to the magizine. get your hands on it to read in english, lol.
