Xbox 360

As a way to prove once and for all that they did not have to remove content from the game due to space limitation, Bizarre Creations released this image of Project Gotham Racing 4 showing the variety of environments in the game, along with how the dynamic weather can alter how they look.

I think you can compare current GT games to PGR3 or 4.

Right now I think Forza 2 has set the bar for "Sim" - and the current GT games don't really stand next to it.

GT 5 should step up and put it back into that "sim" category.

But as it stands there is such a huge difference between "sim" in Forza, and "sim" in the current GT games that I can't honestly call GT a sim anymore.

Its more like an PGR, which is somewhere in the middle.

Burnout, and Outrun, those are arcade games. PGR and GT are both huge steps up from that. But they also are not "sim" like Forza.

Like I said, waiting for GT5 to give Forza some company in the land of the racing simulator.

as usual with GT, theyve put the emphasis firmly on recreating the models, rather than physics, so dont expect many changes, GT:HD wasnt very good, i dont expect GT5 to be any better, F2 went for physics and feel over graphics, and it shows, ugly game, but the feel is pretty amazing, especially with my recent aquired wheel, just wow ;o

Looks very nice, but I hear Gran Turismo 5 will also feature real-time weather. Frankly I prefer GT above PGR in terms of simulation, and Burnout above PGR in terms of arcade. Sorry, Bizarre, but middle of the road just doesn't cut it for me!
I cant stress how TRUE that comment is for me too.

PGR is pretty much purely an Arcade racer
If it plays like PGR3 then i agree but if its like PGR2 then i disagree as that is in the middle, as the cars feels realistic but handle arcadey.

PGR isnt meant to be a sim, so no point comparing to GT, and burnout is just a crash simulator, PGR is an arcade street racer

I liked PGR3 a lot too, and although I was waiting for Forza 2 like mad, I never bought it (even sold the wheel I got especially for it). Why? Well, after playing the demo I felt like 'do I really want to be doing this'... shaving off tenths of seconds from lap times, with pretty much nothing else to it. It just seems a bit 1-dimensional after all the challenges you have in PGR which don't necessarily require you to drive the same fastest line always, but to keep sliding etc. to rack up that kudos. Btw, I did think that Forza 2 with the wheel was the best virtual driving experience so far, and Live play with some friends would probably be a lot of fun.

So of course Forza 2 is a _simulator_ which I thought I wanted to play, but didn't in the end. But PGR3 was instantly accessible and most of all fun to play, so I have my hopes up for this release. As for the simulation/arcade thing... I think at least PGR3 ranked pretty much in the middle too.

The bikes might be a lot of fun... I hope they nail the controls.

PGR3 is beautiful even on a SDTV. PGR4, with weather, on a HDTV... incredible.

The 'ring with snow is going to rock. Well, for sliding anyway.
